Does it just make you think of the shop?
I like, but don't love.

What else might I like? I think I like it because it sounds (to me) strong without being harsh.

I have a Zara - suits her name - strong, feisty and full of life.

I found several meanings for it - 'brightness of dawn', 'splendour of flowers' and it means 'light' in French.

'twas a horse that dumped me in a nettle patch. Named after the princess many, many moons ago.

I like it, it is a good feisty name. Even if she was a feisty badly trained, very pretty horse.

I think it's quite feisty too, which I very much like.
Glad I asked now, it's definitely growing on me. I even tried writing it earlier!

Another Z name is Zilpha.
It's Biblical.

I like it. DD1, then DD2 almost got named Zara, but in the end we went for something else. I think the shop link did bother me a bit.

How does Zara mean light in French? Thought French for light was lumiere, nothing like Zara? I was told it is Arabic for flowers but not 100% sure!

I don't think it's a direct translation. It comes up on baby name sites as that. It's a variant of Sarah so has all those meanings as well eg princess.

I LOVE the name Zara. It's strong and feminine and clever. Unusual but not trendy, classic without being stuffy. I don't think you can go wrong with it .

Much prefer Zoe - more classic and used for thousands of years.

Zara is nice but a bit "now".

...also it ends with an "a" (predictable for today's names!)

Probably also has classic origins, but just feels more "now" than Zoe which is why I prefer Zoe.
