Third poster was posting odd stuff all over the boards.

yellowflowers · 01/06/2012 17:37

People like mine. They think it's classic and timeless and, dare I say it, middle class. Which is funny as I am less keen on it. They think my nickname is awfully common though.

Ishoes · 01/06/2012 17:42

No-even though it is fairly common in scotland-my best friend has the same name as me and there were 2 others in our class!

I have seen my dds name on here-think it is becoming quite popular but have never seen either of my ds's names.

McKayz · 01/06/2012 17:44

Yes I've seen mine on here and its always chavvy and horrible.

missingmymarbles · 01/06/2012 20:00

Never seen mine, DH's or DD's name on here Grin
See DD2's (yet to arriveSmile) a lot; it's always positively spoken about, but is becoming increasingly common. Have always loved it though, before it became very popular and actually, I don't know any anyway.
My friend has an adult friend with the same name as DD, but different spelling and there is a little DH's name in DD's class but again a different spelling. I don't know of anyone else by my name.

Hassled · 01/06/2012 20:02

Mine pops up surprisingly often for a fairly obscure name. Usually rated.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/06/2012 20:07

Mine only ever comes up on those threads about names that aren't likely to come back into fashion anytime soon. Never seen anyone actually suggest using it.

Raahh · 01/06/2012 20:09

I memorably remember my full name being described as very 'council estate'Hmm- which irked a tad, although I hate it myselfGrin It is very 1971 (there were 5 of us in one class at one point)GrinI always, always shorten it.

my middle name is very, very classic. And I have given it my dd1, as her mn as i like it. It's Elizabeth.

VictoriaWould · 01/06/2012 20:17

All the time. (Its not my MN name)
Is pretty and classic (apparently)
It took until I was 23 to meet another one, now there are loads.

DorothyGherkins · 01/06/2012 20:19

Never seen my name on any thread. fFfties name, lots of us around then. Cant see it having a comeback in the near future. Maybe my name is the same as WhoKnowsWhere maybe!

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 01/06/2012 20:38

I have never seen mine mentioned, but I might go off now and do a search...

DS's has been mentioned rarely. I know because I have searched it many times Blush

KenDoddsDadsDog · 01/06/2012 20:40

Occasionally but it's both loved and hated!

bronze · 01/06/2012 20:41

Another welsh one who appears on those threads. Generally liked, I like it

letsblowthistacostand · 01/06/2012 20:45

Mine is always suggested as a middle name, it's 3 letters and goes with everything. Both DDs are often mentioned, DD1 in lists of classics, DD2 as not much liked--people prefer a similar alternative.

QOD · 01/06/2012 20:45

mine is liked but not common, bit 70s tv chick

dd is a bit common sniff

RunnerHasbeen · 01/06/2012 20:46

Mine is twee and is often followed by "can you imagine a judge/Dr/pilot called it?" I love this as I am Dr TweeName who has had flying lessons. It is only ever suggested when someone is asking about a really, really twee name as a sort of compromise.

BikeRunSki · 01/06/2012 20:47

Mine comes about once a week, and is generally quite well liked, classic if a little dull. It is v unusual for my age, but must be top 20 or so now. DH's name seems to have a similar reception.

DS's name comes up quite a lot, sometimes because people like the very common abbreviation, but not the full name, or on lists of traditional, unremarkable boy's names.

Don't think I have ever seen DD's name on here, and it is really not that uncommon.

Celerychampagne · 01/06/2012 20:49

My name is never ever mentioned...is a bit Victorian but obviously not nice enough for the come back ala Molly, Ethel etc...several authors and a few politicians share my name but alas, have never met a baby with my name dammit!

BikeRunSki · 01/06/2012 21:12

Ha! I have just seen DD's name suggested for the first time.
