Mia: timeless or trendy?

Mia seems very of the moment (esp in UK and Australia +/- USA, slightly less so in Canada), but I know it's been a around for a long time. What are people's thoughts????? Will it be the Jennifer of the 70's???

It's very trendy. I know three under the age of one.

squoosh · 31/05/2012 17:48

It's a nice enough name but for me it lacks a bit of punch. All the letters are soft.

AlexanderSkarsgardIWould · 31/05/2012 17:50

Trendy.

popsnsqeeze · 31/05/2012 17:52

Trendy

chipmonkey · 31/05/2012 17:54

Beautiful name. And Mia Farrow wasn't born in the last 5 years!

PineappleBed · 31/05/2012 17:58

I like it as a nick name for Maria

DottieRose · 31/05/2012 18:00

It's a lovely name but I think of it as trendy not timeless!! But if you like it go for it!!

Nancy66 · 31/05/2012 18:01

I'd say chavvy not trendy.

tummytickler · 31/05/2012 18:01

Hmm, I'm not sure. I do know a lot of Mia's under 5, but I also know 3 over the age of 35. If I had to jump one way or other I would say trendy!

usualsuspect · 31/05/2012 18:02

I like it , it's a lovely name.

Abcinthia · 31/05/2012 18:03

I'd say a mix of the both.

I like the name and would say it is a timeless name but it is also very trendy at the moment.

Spottyfrog4 · 31/05/2012 18:05

Nice but trendy

othersideofchannel · 31/05/2012 18:19

Nice name but yes, feels fashionable at the moment.

BikeRunSki · 31/05/2012 18:21

I like it and I don't know any (and I know a lot of under 5s).

KateF · 31/05/2012 18:22

I thought Mia was over its popular phase-I only know Mias aged 7+. I like it but prefer Maia personally. I certainly don't see it as "chavvy".

Doitnicelyplease · 31/05/2012 20:36

It is definitely a popular name right now (and over last 10 years), but you do meet Mia's of different ages. I have liked it since Pulp Fiction (Mia Wallace) and also had a friend called Mia about 15 years ago (she was 21 at the time).

We are considering it for DD2.

Don't think it is quite as common place as: Olivia/Isabella/Ava, but that also depends on where you live.

QueenEdith · 31/05/2012 20:39

Bit trendy; lots of them in the late 1990s.

sugarspiceandallthingsnice324 · 31/05/2012 22:28

Mia on its own = Trendy
Mia as a nn for Amelia = timeless

heliumballoon · 31/05/2012 22:30

I know about four Mias.

Anonymumous · 31/05/2012 22:47

I know of a couple and they are both from the chavvy end of town. I'd say trendy.

emmyloo2 · 31/05/2012 23:20

Trendy and v. Popular at the moment. Nice enough name though.

misslinnet · 31/05/2012 23:23

Trendy.

xTonixxx · 31/05/2012 23:31

Pretty but trendy

scottishmummy · 31/05/2012 23:35

mc trendy

juneybean · 01/06/2012 01:07

I love it but can't use it unless I change my surname :(
