what do you think?

DH suggested Zebedee but i think he may have been joking. i like it however.
especially due to the Magic Roundabout connotation.
what would it shorten to?

though it does mean 'gift of god' like so many many other names..

and 'Xanthe'...well 'fair-haired' - all my kids are blondies so far!

Freerangeggs, that's a brilliant idea and maybe anyone who is slightly concerned that they may be giving their child an outlandish name should try it. It may be very enlightening.

"Tell your husband to try it out for a while. Next time he introduces himself to someone, tell him to do it as Zebedee to see how it feels and what reaction it gets..."

I agree with mirry2. That is an epic idea Grin

I have a Xanthe. We live in France now, where it is pronounced nasally as Zonte. I love both pronunciations but she tries to change her name on a daily basis (she is only 4 though).

I also have a Xanthe and everyone always comments on whata lovely name.
But: whoever advised that it is pronounced 'Zanth-ee': it actually isn't. It's a Greek name and pronounced Ksanth-ee. Everyone will call her Zanth-ee though...I don't mind but it makes my gran (another Xanthe) furious -grin]
