Love it. It's sweet and sassy, not too girlie, not too plain.

I'd have it as short for Cassia.

AllotmentLottie · 16/03/2012 13:50

Love it, would have it as short for Cassandra though.

squoosh · 16/03/2012 13:56

I can only ever hear the name Cassandra as said in the voice of Rodney Trotter.

ItWasThePenguins · 16/03/2012 13:58

Love it as shortened Cassandra =)

mayanna123 · 16/03/2012 14:00

Cassie is lovely. Simple, feminine and underused these days.

twolittlemonkeys · 16/03/2012 14:08

Love it - pretty, suitable for a child or adult, and rarely used, yet easy to spell.

Marmite2012 · 16/03/2012 14:11

Yes - love it!

Not keen of Cassandra because of Only Fools and Horses!!

FilterCoffee · 16/03/2012 14:19

Lovely, although a bit nicknamey so would go for Cassia, or Cassandra with Cassie for short.

5madthings · 16/03/2012 14:19

love it, there is a little girl at the baby group i go to called this, she is the only one i know and its a lovely name for a lovely little girl :) its not short for anything either, they just used Cassie :)

abbypumpkin · 16/03/2012 15:13

I think it's lovely, quite feminine yet not not flowery. Would work on an adult aswell. Don't think you NEED any different version though I do like Cassandra. Can't see how Cassie is 'short' for Cassia as the are the same length Hmm.

OTTMummA · 16/03/2012 15:16

Thank you ladies, we have decided that her name is Cassie, and we will just be using that i think, not short for anything.

Just need to arrange middle names now!

DH is very happy, and i am too, now she has a name Smile

Fair point abbypumpkin, not short for then but an informal version of, much in the same vein as Harry for Henry.

Cassie for everyday, Cassia for when she grows up to become an arch seductress, or MN favourite, a barrister :)

girliefriend · 16/03/2012 15:23

Love it but don't like cassandra, think cassia is pretty though Smile

LondonNadiy · 16/03/2012 18:18

I love Cassie, I planned on using it for Cassiopia. But even as Cassie only, she could still nn Cass if she was desperate to have choices!

Alex, Jane, Jude, Sienna, Rebecca, Bethan as mn?

rebecklet · 16/03/2012 18:34

Love Cassie, especially shortened for Cassandra - great choice :)

nizlopi · 16/03/2012 19:28

Ooh, Cassie is beautiful

TheMonster · 16/03/2012 19:30

Sorry to go against the grain, but I don't like it. It sounds like a dog's name.

OTTMummA · 16/03/2012 19:36

Body, that's what everyone said about the boys name i picked out, Rex!! Ha!

OP posts:
TheMonster · 16/03/2012 19:37

Oh dear no! In that case, Cassie is fine.

FilterCoffee · 16/03/2012 19:41

Hey, that was quick OP :o Congratulations on your choice and thanks for letting us know, it's always lovely to hear the final decision :)

FilterCoffee · 16/03/2012 19:42

(can we help you with middle names now??) :)

FluffyBunnyWunnyMummyKins · 16/03/2012 19:42

I loved this when I was pregnant but our Cassie turned out to be a G eorge. Grin

I remember Cassandra having a negative meaning though, it's something about being a doomed woman / entangling men so if name meanings are important, you might want to look it up.

mummybare · 16/03/2012 19:48

Cassandra in Greek myth was a prophetess doomed to always speak the truth yet never be believed. Which is obviously tragic, but kinda cool at the same time.

Personally I think it's a lovely name.

night1971 · 16/03/2012 20:06

Cassia is gorgeous. Have a relative by this name and it is very pretty to say and hear.

pchick · 16/03/2012 20:13

I work with a lovely Cassie (full name, not abbreviated).
