DD will be nameless at this rate so I need a nice name which will go with our mc Scottish surname and sits nicely with Archie.
So far I like holly and Isla and dh likes Mary.

Any advances? Mary reminds me of an old aunt. Holly... not sure if a summer baby should be named with a christmassy name?

What do you all think? I love Molly but dh vetoed as had a dog called this.

I love Archie! In my very humble opinion, I generally don't like 2 names ending in the same noice (i.e. "ee").

I like:

Isa
Mairi
Elle
Shyla
Cara
Elisa
Orla

emmyloo2 · 21/02/2012 12:29

Another vote for Charlotte here. It's gorgeous.

loopydoo · 21/02/2012 12:33

Orla is my all time fave name.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 21/02/2012 12:36

Not sure if it is a scottish name but am loving Clara at the moment.
Clara and Archie or Archie and Clara sounds nice together

chipmunksex · 21/02/2012 12:37

I like:

Isla
Fiona
Alison
Lila

Love Kirsty, but wouldn't with another -ie name like Archie

Rinkan · 21/02/2012 17:29

Milly

Purplehonesty · 21/02/2012 19:07

Shortlisting Millie, isla and holly for def.

Dh thinks allie is too masculine as there are a lot if alastairs here who go by ali.

Archie favours baby holly but I think that may be to do with his favourite tv prog.

Orla is beautiful but when I said it out loud to dh he said "oral?"

I can't get past Millie as being a nn for Mildred.

EMS23 · 21/02/2012 19:27

We have an Archie and an Ava.

redrubyshoes · 21/02/2012 19:29

Agnes
Bonnie
Edith
Flora
Iona
Rosalind

or

finally and not Scottish

Zoe (just you can say Archie and Zoe are your A to Z) Smile

loopydoo · 21/02/2012 22:26

Orla (imo) sounds nicest when said with a softly lilting Irish accent (as it's an Irish name).

It sounds completley different with an english accent as the r becomes harder than the softer, rolling r with an Irish accent.

lollystix · 21/02/2012 23:09

Fiona is beautiful - much underused nowadays

dementedma · 22/02/2012 22:40

Ailsa
Archie and Ailsa mcSomething is great.

Orbinator · 22/02/2012 22:42

I like Alba - v. scottish too :)
