Three week old DS doesn't have a name, fed up of him being 'baby'!

DS is now three weeks old and we're getting to the stage where finding a name is desperate! Before he was born it was pretty much decided that he would be either Seamus, Marcus or Fergus. However, he just doesn't 'feel' like any of those names. Ciaran and Alexander were also possibilities but just aren't him. So could you lovely MNers through some great names at us? We like older names and also Gaelic names - the help would be much apprieciated!
Almost forgot, middle name is needed too.

...Or either Ronan or Malachy.

Just realised 'R' names are out as the initials would spell REM which is an insult where we are. Great!

Murdo is ace

musttidyupmusttidyup · 07/02/2012 20:16

Cormac.
Fab name - would've used if DC3 had been a boy.

TheLittleFriend · 07/02/2012 20:22

for me, Jude is THE best boys name going. He'd be a JEM, which could be a nickname too.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/02/2012 20:35

Oh yes love Cormac

OzzieLou · 07/02/2012 20:46

OK, one of mine is still in the running Smile

Iarlaith can also be Jarlath in Irish.

Murrough? (pronounced 'Murra')

Feilim? (pronounced fey-lim)

Tadhg? (pronounced ti-gue)

(sorry if I come across as patronising with pronouncements, just trying to be helpful)

You'd have to call him (nearly) Einstein: E2 = MC

musttidyupmusttidyup · 07/02/2012 21:45

Grin good spot bonzo!

PutThatCatOutNow · 07/02/2012 21:48

Gregor/Gregory
Gabriel
Gideon
Glen
Gray
Guy
Jasper
Jude
Jeremiah

BonzoDooDah · 07/02/2012 22:00

I think it needs one or three syllables in the first name to scan nicely with the other names - otherwise it would become a mouthful.

Sarahplane · 07/02/2012 22:14

Kian or Brendan?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/02/2012 22:18

Cillian

Bellie · 07/02/2012 22:20

Orin

Fulhamup · 07/02/2012 22:20

Hereward

Anglo Saxon and quite cool.

Don't write off Marcus, I am married to one. It's a great name, masculine, a Roman classic, not overly fashionable so no danger of him being in a class with numerous others.

lyonheart · 07/02/2012 23:06

Jude is fab! Personally I'm still leaning towards Eoghan, he looks like an Eoghan but I think DH is only saying he likes is as I do and he will regret using it. Decisions, decisions!

MuddlingThroughItAll · 08/02/2012 18:50

You have to choose Eoghan, I can tell it's your gut feeling!

lyonheart · 08/02/2012 19:49

Finally we are getting somewhere! DH has given the OK to the follow names, what do you think?

Seth Ernest McCartney
Logan Tavish McCartney
Malachy Tavish McCartney
Jude Ernest McCartney (JEM)

Seth!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/02/2012 20:11

Love love love Malachy. I so wanted this if I had a boy!
Then Seth, then Jude. Don't like Logan much.

PopcornBiscuit · 08/02/2012 20:13

Jude, then Seth. Love Ernest as middle name, but don't like Tavish.
