DS is Storm Leaf Edward Wolf Surname

DC2 needs at least a name kind of like DS1. But as DS1 is named (exactually) for someone dear to me - we just added the Edward in. Don't think it needs to be as 'hippy' like.
I have a name like DS while DP has a very 'normal' name

For the one traditional name, Timothy for a boy and Mary for a girl.

So we need a fn and 2 more mns.

Ohh and thank you for the replies to the other threads - very helpful.

Our roughish shortlist:

Boys:

Moon
Silas
Ty
Trey
Trip
Jackson
Arlo
Blaze
Shadow
Echo
Rain

Girls:

Scarlett
Dusk
Melody
Harmony
Saffron
Echo
Moon
River
Skye

Shepherd for a boy?
Rata for a girl?

Thumbwitch · 09/11/2011 04:06

I like Zephyr for a boy.

Mist for a girl?

Also agree that you should not call a second child Shadow. Bad connotation.

Can I just give the perspective of someone who was given the name Echo (only as a middle name) - I hated it when I was a kid, children just teased me about it when they found out, I think Echo was a name for a newspaper, a margarine and a dolphin at the time, and I always got the old favourite of repeating everything many times over.

Now that I am an adult I do love it, and so do other people, but please don't give it to a boy! She was a Greek nymph, who fell in love with Narcissus. I can't imagine the teasing a boy would get from it!

Now I am reading a lot of these names and thinking they are beautiful, but you really do need to think around them and work out what they might say about it on the playground before you choose one!

bracken?

cheeptrick · 25/11/2011 08:30

Marly is french for blackbird.
Robyn
Wren
Swan
Star-nina (nina means bright)
Ninastar

I think that the name needs to mean something to you and have a good story behind it. If you want to be unquie you could make a name up or combine two names to make a new one up.

Wow, some great names here. Love the nature / element thing. Wanted it myself but DP vetoed everything.

May I add Zipporah, Flax, Io and Phlox to your girl's list? I wanted one of these for my DD but it wasn't to be!

Janoschi · 02/12/2011 04:27

Also desperately wanted Tethys. Loved the 'oldness' of it. Truly ancient. Oh this takes me back. For the record, we settled on Robin for our DD. Halfway between nature and 'proper'.

frutilla · 02/12/2011 15:15

frutilla · 02/12/2011 15:16
