DS is Storm Leaf Edward Wolf Surname

DC2 needs at least a name kind of like DS1. But as DS1 is named (exactually) for someone dear to me - we just added the Edward in. Don't think it needs to be as 'hippy' like.
I have a name like DS while DP has a very 'normal' name

For the one traditional name, Timothy for a boy and Mary for a girl.

So we need a fn and 2 more mns.

Ohh and thank you for the replies to the other threads - very helpful.

Our roughish shortlist:

Boys:

Moon
Silas
Ty
Trey
Trip
Jackson
Arlo
Blaze
Shadow
Echo
Rain

Girls:

Scarlett
Dusk
Melody
Harmony
Saffron
Echo
Moon
River
Skye

STOP IT!

Breeze?

Febreeze?

dramatrauma · 01/11/2011 22:49

Why not run together all the names of Sarah Palin's children into one long name?

reelingintheyears · 01/11/2011 22:51

Yeah dramatrauma.....wtf was a Trig about?

And Bristol(s)...arf.

dramatrauma · 01/11/2011 22:53

Just to help out further, that would be: Bristol Piper Track Willow Trig. Obviously you could shuffle them about and add in Timothy/Mary to denote gender.

reelingintheyears · 01/11/2011 22:57

Willow and Piper are okish but Track,Trig and Bristol are Confused

(Willow is my dogs name after the Buffy Witch!)

PartialToACupOfMilo · 01/11/2011 22:58

How about Eira (Welsh for snow). We considered it for our dd, but we're really not a very 'hippy' family and so didn't in the end - still think it's beautiful though Smile

bringbacksideburns · 01/11/2011 23:14

Like Jackson or Arlo. Blaze sounds like a horse.

I knew someone who called their son Bon after Bon Scott from AD/DC!

Quite like Skye! I know a Zephyr and a Marren.
Really like the gaelic girls names like Elish (pron. ay - lish) Aoife (Pron. ee-fa) which means "beautiful, radiant, joyful." Known as the greatest woman warrior in the world. Sounds cool!

ImpYCelyn · 02/11/2011 07:37

Also like Thalia, Thea, Isis, Gaia

What about Jethro? Or Wynn?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/11/2011 09:44

Has anyone made an Earth, Wind and Fire joke yet?

Boobz · 02/11/2011 18:22

If I was a hippy, I would somehow get Zeus in there.

MamaLazarou · 02/11/2011 20:16

TRIP?

I've heard it all now.

FriggsFlyingFalconFeathers · 02/11/2011 23:30

Arlo or Skye...but then,im biased Wink

i like Phoenix and Juniper too.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 03/11/2011 13:05

Silas - sounds a bit evil
Ty - but chavvy (yeah, I said it chavvy)
Trey - bit american
Jackson - bt american
Arlo - quite like
Blaze - a bit try hard
Shadow - love it but wouldn't have the guts!
Echo - isn't that a girl's name? From Greek mythology?
Rain - like
Felix - not very hippy
Ocean - like

Scarlett - very mainstream, but a good name
Dusk - ooooh love
Melody - don't like
Harmony - bit stripper-esque
Saffron - love
Echo - love
River - love
Skye - bit over popular
Ziva - not keen
Zillah - not keen
Zilpah - not so keen
Willa - cool
Willow - OK

like bikerunski's suggestions too....we have River and Autumn on our girls' list

BlueChampagne · 03/11/2011 15:51

Aurora?

Ephiny · 03/11/2011 16:07

I love Melody, River and Skye from your girls list, Harmony is OK, not so keen on Dusk or Echo. Moon could work as one of the middle names maybe.

Serenity, Dawn, Rowan (good for a boy as well), Heather...what about animal-based names like Ursula or Leona? Ocean?

I'm not so good at boy names, will have a think though. Heath or Leo come to mind as variants of the girl ones!

Ephiny · 03/11/2011 16:20

Brook(e), Fern, Sorrel, Laurel, Coral? :)

Still mostly for girls, the boy ones are definitely more difficult...

CheerfulYank · 03/11/2011 18:09

Finol is Old English for Fennel, the herb, and Fin is a really nice nickname.

Finol Arlo Timothy James, called Fin.

There! Sorted! :o

Fennel itself is also quite nice...it's a useful herb. And Fenn is close to Fin but a bit different.

CheerfulYank · 03/11/2011 18:19

Sage, Thor, Hawthorne, Aspen, Ren, Robin, Phoenix?

Fillybuster · 03/11/2011 18:25

OP - I love all the names on your list...

To add:

Rowan
Ivy
Willow
Tiger (boy or girl)
Tiger Lily (ok, prob girl...)
Ariel (boy or girl)
Titania
Seren
Arwen
Gaia
Star (boy or girl)
Wilde (boy)

Lakota · 03/11/2011 18:26

What about Lakota? Wink Great name. Native American tribe, so pretty hippyish.

Bearcrumble · 06/11/2011 14:19

Hawthorn for a boy.

FriggsFlyingFalconFeathers · 06/11/2011 14:22

Heather?

startail · 06/11/2011 14:26

I've a soft spot for Echo because I knew a lovely girl called it.

TidyDancer · 06/11/2011 14:33

I so wanted Ziva for DD, but DP wouldn't let me because he thinks it would be after Ziva David from NCIS. It wasn't I lied.

Note2Self · 06/11/2011 19:43

For boys I like Silas and Jackson best. You can't have a Rain and Storm. Piss-take!

The others don't sound hippy to my ear, they scream 'try hard sleb' names to me, sorry. Blaze? No! Awful! Blaise is a popular French boys name of you want an actual name.Sorry for harshness, but trying to be honest.

For girls, I love Saffron and Skye. Melody is OK, too. Scarlett is a bit...common. Echo, Dusk Moon are awful. River is a boy's name. Luna instead of Moon?
I also know a little girl called Soleil.
