'Hipster' names?

babybumblebeee · 14/10/2011 00:04

Having a chat with a friend today about what we consider to be hipster names.

Some names mentioned were Matilda, Florence, Esme, Felix, Leo, Finn, Oscar

What would you add to the list? I am particularly interested as these are the type of name I go for and am trying to work on a list!

heck that Unhappy Hipsters site is good! Thanks CaptainNancy Grin

Do you know of anything else in the same vain?

catsarecool · 31/10/2011 15:25

Firstly, please, please do not name your child Bleeker. Personally I can't understand why the name Esme has come back into fashion - I had a Great Aunt Esme and for me it is the quintessential old lady name, forever associated with blue rinses and walking sticks.

4madboys · 31/10/2011 15:35

2 of my boys first names on here and so are 2 of their middle names, some of the other names mentioned have been ones that were 'possible'.

we just chose names we liked, and we agreed on! certainly didnt try to pick 'hipster' names whatever the hell that means!

Loving the use of the Shipping Forecast in this context. I miss TSF now it's not on proper radio

MammieBear · 23/02/2018 14:41

I love old traditional names that are sightly quirky too, my DC's names are on this list I would add
Adeline
Blythe
Cosette
And for boys...
Albert
Boris
Crispin

toomanyweeds · 23/02/2018 16:34
