Calling all teachers...which names would you NOT choose as a result of teaching brats over the years?

Just curious really as after DS was born (named Sam) teacher friends of ours commented that they'd only ever taught "nice Sams".

I was just interested to know (now that we are choosing a name for DC2!) if there are specific first names that you know spell trouble....

Brad. There's one in every class here.

Kyle and Liam - horrors!!! (Every one that I have taught and I know one Liam who is the son of a friend - would love to meet an exception!)

petitdonkey · 29/08/2011 07:30

On the flip side, never met a bad/unkind/naughty; Lucy, Grace, Jessica, Hannah (although they can be a bit wet!!)

Charlie, Danny, William's, all lovely too...

Kevin.

I teach in Italy, so the name is a bit unusual, but after seven Kevins in a row that were little sods I get a sinking sensation now whenever I hear the name.

It made choosing our DDs name a nightmare. DH is a teacher and tends to associate a name with a child. If the child has been challenging, he would veto it.
Luckily for us, he'd taught in a single sex school for ten years prior to DD being born and the sex wasn't hers.

Never taught a Connor who didn't test my patience.

Kyle
Liam
Connor
Any name that is normally a surname

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 29/08/2011 09:13

Ooooh, I'm intrigued as to whether teachers have opinions on my childrens names!

PrincessJenga · 29/08/2011 09:17

Any double barrelled first name or misspelt common name (Jazzmyn is a particular 'favourite')

PrincessJenga · 29/08/2011 09:20

We do Elf, I promise! We have opinions on all names Grin

It makes choosing our own LO's names very hard!

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 29/08/2011 09:24

My two are called Evelyn and Sebastian...
If a teacher said "Evelyn's are noisy..." I would reply with a bemused look and a "tell me about it!"

Elf, tbh with names like that we would be more worried about whether you would be in the classroom every five minutes telling us teachers off rather than any behaviour issues with your kids. Wink

WelliesAndABrolly · 29/08/2011 09:36

Charlie

If it helps my son's name is already on this thread!

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 29/08/2011 09:38

Grin I'm too laid back to shout at teachers! DD has just finished her first year at school, DS is only 12 weeks old so a while before he is there. Enough time for his name to get a reputation Grin

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 29/08/2011 09:38

DH is Ashley though, so am finding this thread amusing!

stellarpunk · 29/08/2011 09:42

Ryan.

No contest.

hellokitty123 · 29/08/2011 10:06

Connor, Tyler and Ryan.

Beingblonde · 29/08/2011 10:31

Liam.

DriverDan · 29/08/2011 11:14

I'm feeling brave today! What would the teachers think about my DD's names; Holly and Anna. (Have a feeling I already know based on past threads!) Go on, do your worst Grin

MistyMountainHop · 29/08/2011 11:18

glad none of my dc names have been mentioned :o

clam · 29/08/2011 11:29

Alfie, Archie, Jordan.
Courtney, Jade, Kayley and Karleigh.

PrincessJenga · 29/08/2011 11:32

Elf, I'm with Wrangler; I'd dread you coming in for parents' evening Wink

Although, Evelyn was top of my name list and Sebastian was top of DP's so we will also be dreaded by all of LO's teachers

DriverDan, Holly tries to be a good girl, but the naughtiness just sneaks out; Anna is in top sets for everything and drives her teachers mad by putting her hand up for every single question Grin

ihavenewsockson · 29/08/2011 11:32

What would teachers think of my two?

Logan and Viktor
