Which do you prefer?

It's a name mash-up! A RL version of Glee!

I prefer Samous and Thomuel

BelleEnd · 20/07/2011 13:15

I prefer 'or'

allhailtheaubergine · 20/07/2011 13:16

I keep seeing Maddex in Baby Names.

Surely you mean Maddox?

HoneyPablo · 20/07/2011 13:16

I quite like Maxdex

LovelyDaffs · 20/07/2011 13:17

Agree with Belle

Noleen · 20/07/2011 13:17

No, Maddex. It's a better version of Maddox I think

OP posts:
HoneyPablo · 20/07/2011 13:19

Better? In what way?

coccyx · 20/07/2011 13:20

both ridiculous, awful and too contrived

suzikettles · 20/07/2011 13:21

It sounds industrial somehow. A cleaner? Solvent?

Noleen · 20/07/2011 13:21

I personally think the pronunciation is better don't you?

OP posts:
Noleen · 20/07/2011 13:21

why contrived?

OP posts:
allhailtheaubergine · 20/07/2011 13:23

It sounds like a parcel delivery service.

Or depression medication.

WhipMeIndiana · 20/07/2011 13:23

max - lovely
maddox - bit chavvy
maddex is like a painkiller

HoneyPablo · 20/07/2011 13:24

So we like Max, but Maddex does sound like a painkiller.
How about Madmax?

Noleen · 20/07/2011 13:24

But they're different and unique don't you think? A change from the norm or should I say the Yawn!

OP posts:
Noleen · 20/07/2011 13:25

Oh, you see, I'm South African and I never thought of the chavvy thing. Ahh, I think I get it now! It is a bit.

OriginalPoster · 20/07/2011 13:25

I don't normally say this, but neither. Is it for a girl or boy? Have you considered using them as middle names?

controlpantsandgladrags · 20/07/2011 13:26

Maddex is pronounced Madd ex in my head. Presumably you're pronouncing it the same as Maddox but spelled wrong?

HoneyPablo · 20/07/2011 13:26

How about you take the first part of the baby's dad's name and the second part of your name?

QueenOfFeckingEverything · 20/07/2011 13:26

Noleen - you clearly have no intention of listening to what anyone says so why bother asking? How many threads now??

Noleen · 20/07/2011 13:30

I know I know QueenofFeckingEverything but I'm so confused and I think I'm confusing myself more and more. I just wanted to understand why the Brits don't seem to like the name (as I'm South African) and now I think I get it. I never thought of them as chavvy. Thanks for your help everyone :-)

tummytickler · 20/07/2011 13:46

Neither. Both awful.

MamaLazarou · 20/07/2011 19:38

I've never heard Maxton - quite like it.

Maddex looks silly - like Maddox mis-spelt. Sorry.

PotterWatch · 20/07/2011 19:39

How ridiculous.

PaperBank · 20/07/2011 20:03

Maxton sounds like an electronics manufacturer.

Maddex looks like an incorrect spelling of Maddox.

Not keen on either TBH.
