Why are there no bird names?

There are flower names (Rose, Heather) and herb names (Basil, Rosemary) and nature names (River, Skye) and animal names (Wolf, Bear) but no bird names. Except Robin.

afaik, Aveline is an old French name with 'little bird' as its meaning.

Finch could be nice for a boy or a girl , i think it was the name of a character in the whiteoaks of jalna books by Mazo de la roche

If I had another boy, and I'm not having any more babies, I'd want to call him Merlin (a small falcon).

yes, Peregrine is a good name with nn Percy or Perry.

Merlin as vintage says.

How about Osprey or Hoopoe?
