Oh and a couple of JAcks. And just remembered that one Ruairidh has left.

Interesting thread.

DS was going to be:

Thomas (what he ended up as), Jake, Callum, Conner or Joshua (all of which have appeared here as frequent fliers!)

Of if DD:

Sophia, Charlotte, Bethany (think Bethany is the least common)

In my Early Years (only 16 pupils) I have

3x Jack
also have Lily, Ellie, Millie, Poppy, Ruby, Bradley, Riley. (anyone see a theme Grin)

DS year (59 pupils yr 2)

3x Thomas
2x Sam/ emily/ Katie/ Charlotte.

And friends DD are called Sophie and Olivia (and would have been Thomas is boys)

The regional breakdown of these would be really interesting too. eg What is popular in Scotland might not be in London.

There are also many many variations of Eleanor, Emily, Ellie in our school and many variations of Beth, Bethany, Elsbeth etc.

There are a few girls called Poppy and a few called Daisy as well.

My dd has one duplicate in her school but they are 5 year groups apart and my ds doesn't have a duplicate but he does have one very similar name but female.

How do you pronounce the name Ruaridh (not sure of spelling)? Is it popular in Scotland? My 3G old has on in his class at nursery and I notice the other day that he thinks he is called "BlueRed"!

Maryz's pronunciation is correct for scotland too.

Gosh, at the risk of sounding very very snobby I'd say there are an awful lot of middle class, affluent schools represented in this thread.

At the school I teach in now (medium sized independent in the home counties) the most common multiples are:
Frederick, Sebastian, Max, Jack, Christopher, Hugh, William, George, Harry, Hugo, James, Charles, Joseph, Joshua, Thomas, Oliver
Annabelle, Georgina, Georgia, Alice, Grace, Jessica, Isabel/la, Mia, Harriet, Elizabeth, Abigail.

At the last school I taught at (small primary in the North East, 4 years ago) the most common multiples were:
Declan, Dylan, Damon, Callum, Reece,
Chelsea, Kelsey, Holly, Jamie-Lee, Amy

freesias, I know of quite a few, but then again the DC's are at a prep in central London (area starts with C, ends in A), so might not be the best representation of England as a whole Blush
