Anna or Daisy?

Getting into a complete tizz about which to pick.

I love Anna but is it too safe and dull?

Is Daisy twee and is it as timeless as Anna?

Which would you rather be called?

Anna- not dull at all, simply elegant! Smile

NormanNorris · 24/03/2011 15:14

Anna. Timeless and stunning!

Daisy is twee and will date along with all the other cutesy names. The new Wendy maybe? Not necessarily a bad thing but I'd rather be called Anna.

CorrieQueen · 24/03/2011 15:26

Anna, very very pretty and not at all dull. Really beautiful name.

ValiumSingleton · 24/03/2011 15:33

Anna is beautiful. I also like Nina, Ellen, Beth, Joy, Faith. Beautiful simple names. Less can be more in a class of Christabels and Gabrielas sometimes. (disclaimer, I like both of those names!!)

Daisy is quite nice, but it will date so much more than Anna will. Daisy is also a tiny bit 'away with the fairies' in its vibe. dykwim? NOT that I don't like it. I actually do like it..

BlueChampagne · 24/03/2011 15:34

Anna - it also travels well, certainly in Europe.

I like both as I have both, We have a Denise but called Daisy as it was decided Daisy might not work well for an adult but also called Upsy Daisy Do and Anna Banana--

toobreathless · 24/03/2011 15:55

Just love Anna so beautiful.

Would have used it myself but with my surname sounds rather similar to 'a lemon meringue' when put together!

Not a fan of daisy.

sunshinescarlett · 24/03/2011 16:13

Why not use Daisy as her middle name? Then you could use it as a bit of a NN whilst she is little and it also gives her the choice if she would like to be referred to it as her name when older.

I think Anna Daisy sounds beautiful - simple but elegant Smile

Northernrose · 24/03/2011 19:17

Very biased here as DD1 is Anna and we love it! Timeless, elegant, travels well, known but not common etc etc. I quite like Daisy too but do think it would date more and not be so easily transferable across the age ranges whereas Anna is cute for a wee girl and lovely for an older girl and woman, IMO. I personally would rather be Anna, but also think Anna Daisy is lovely if you didn't have another mn planned! Smile

growing3rdbump · 24/03/2011 19:50

Anna

girliefriend · 24/03/2011 19:55

Anna Daisy - sorted!

smileychicken · 24/03/2011 20:01

Both pretty names but I would definitely recommend Anna. It is classy, timeless, not very commonly used, cute but also professional and not the name of a weed (sorry I do like Daisy too!)

Anna Daisy sounds perfect.

smother · 24/03/2011 20:22

seems like all's pointing towards Anna... and I totally agree with others comments. Anna is beautiful, timeless - a really great name - it knocks the socks of Daisy (tis very twee and will date)

CPtart · 24/03/2011 20:34

Anna. A 40 year old called Daisy????

CharlieBoo · 24/03/2011 20:38

Daisy McAndrew

belbos · 24/03/2011 20:54

I love Anna. I sometimes wish I'd given my daughter this as her name rather than Annabel.

Daisy is trendy and I agree that it will date with all the other sickly names.

expectingno3 · 24/03/2011 22:06

Anna, absolutely.

Olivetti · 25/03/2011 17:20

Anna. I have an Anna Emily, and she's gorgeous!

Indith · 25/03/2011 17:24

Anna is lovely :)

So is Daisy :)

I have a Margaret Anne who 99.9% of the time is known by the nn Daisy (yes, yes it is a shortening of Margaret) Grin. She is only 2 though so Daisy is still cute, I can see that fading with time.

hester · 25/03/2011 17:26

Anna Anna Anna
Every time!

pilates · 25/03/2011 18:03

Another one for Anna.

pointydog · 25/03/2011 18:13

Anna

Kaekae · 25/03/2011 18:42

I like them both, but I think I would go for Daisy...I like twee names!

Greenwing · 25/03/2011 20:32

Definitely, most definitely Anna. Timeless & classic and suitable for a grown woman.
