Does Jasmine Pearl scream air freshener to you?

Well, Pearl is definately on the shortlist for a middle name if we have a girl (in honour of my gran who's name is actually Margaret) and DP really likes Alexia or Alexa for a first name. I like these too, but also love the name Jasmine.

Trouble is I'm wondering if Jasmine Pearl sounds like something you spray round the house to cover the smell of the dog farting?

It wouldn't be double barrelled (Jasmine-Pearl) so wouldn't be a major issue in a few years, but do you think this name would remind people of Febreeze or similar? Confused

Alexa is way more American (or even German) than English, and Alexia is imo chavtastic, much moreso than Jasmine.

Jemima, by contrast, is the most quintessentially English name of the lot, imo. Your DH can't dismiss Jemima as not English and prefer Alexia, which is trashy American and nothing else.

Pearl doesn't have to be changed to Margaret -- there's Margeurite, Rita, Marsaili, Marjorie, Margarita..

Margaret is gran's name so wouldn't be a point to any of the other names IYSWIM. I don't why my DP thinks Jemima isn't english enough- he can't see why he's being ridiculous Hmm

I do still like Alexa, more so than Alexia which just seems like a mouthful especially for a small child. Don't think either names are chavvy or trashy. but it is a case of different strokes for different folks. I've some people's shortlists on here that make me howl with laughter or make an ewww! face.

Jasmine Margaret sounds very nice to me. I don't think Jasmine is bad at all.
