Not loving any of them

What about susanah?

FoxyRevenger · 16/02/2011 21:03

Cordelia is lovely.

Please don't name your child Hilda, Gladys or Ernestine! Grin

Tillyscoutsmum · 16/02/2011 21:05

The ones I like the best (and go best with your other dc's imo) are:-

Rita
Mary
Jean
Hazel
Daphne

I really like Sybil but could only ever say it Basil Fawlty style Smile.

iloveblue · 16/02/2011 21:07

I like Clover, Morag and love Roberta.
How do you pronounce Thisbe?

Rhubarbgarden · 16/02/2011 21:08

Clover! Do it. I love this name but Dh wouldn't hear of it. I also love Hazel, Marigold, Thomasina and Augusta. Great list actually.

countrybump · 16/02/2011 21:08

KenDoddsDadsDog · 16/02/2011 21:10

Love Clover, Hazel and Vera

expectingno3 · 16/02/2011 21:27

Wow, what a list! A mix of styles going on there. I think the following go best with your other DC:
Clover, Gilda, Queenie, Thisbe.
FWIW I really can't get my head round naming a baby:
Beryl, Edna, Ethel, Rowena (think Rowenta irons!) Thora or Vera. Good luck!

Valinor · 16/02/2011 21:34

I like Cordelia, Gilda, Hazel, Jane, Marigold, Miriam, Rowena, Sibyl / Sybil, and Ursula.

Mary, Miriam and Sally are my favourites.

BelligerentGhoul · 16/02/2011 21:46

Don't like many of these tbh. Lots of them are quite harsh and ugly sounding imvho. However, I love Clover.

MerryMarigold · 16/02/2011 21:48

Oh I LOVE Marigold and wanted it for my dd! (Dh veto-ed). I think Maggie is a cute nn. [think Maggie Smith, not Maggie Thatcher). I like Miriam too.

Have to say I absolutely HATE a few of them. Please DO NOT inflict Beryl or Queenie or Gertrude on a little dd. Hmm

(By the way, it may be a boy!).

brightcopperkettles · 16/02/2011 22:18

Lucy85 · 17/02/2011 09:15

Is this for real ?!?!

Cheeruploveitmightneverhappen · 17/02/2011 09:21

Shocking list there! Ask your DH for some ideas, you have a severe case of baby brain. And I mean that in the kindest way possible.

BendyBob · 17/02/2011 09:31

Persephone. I really like it! It'd get shortened though.

Also Gilda (Gala is similar) and Hazel.

I love your other dc's names btwSmile.

pilates · 17/02/2011 09:41

Not sure if this is a genuine thread, but I only like Jane from your list.

tummytickler · 17/02/2011 09:50

Real thread - and this is mine and dh's list Grin , so if I asked his opinion it would be the same as we both worked on it!
Thanks for all the opinions, I am really looking to cut down the list to a more manageable size!

Thisbe is pronounced like frisbe, but with a 'Th' at the beginning. It is a bit of a special family name for us.

Me too Pilates. It seems so random. OP, I did know a youngish woman called Queenie, she was as rough as a badgers arse.
Jane is a fine name.
