They are both lovely I think. Both have potential shortening issues though, maybe.

What do you think? Smile

Definitely Juliet.

ggirl · 16/02/2012 08:08

I love the name Imogen

londonlottie · 16/02/2012 09:00

I know this is pathetic but I'm loving the fact you all prefer the name Juliet Blush Grin

Frikadellen · 16/02/2012 12:16

Another vote for Juliet it is rarely heard (apart from Romeo and Juliet type way) and Imogen is getting common around here

marvinthemartian · 16/02/2012 12:22

I am always surprised that Imogen is as high on the lists as it is - it is a name that is always around, but never really come across loads of them. I have an Imogen, she is 8. never been to school with another girl with the same name (not just in her class, in the whole preschool/school)

I quite like Juliet, but not sure I would use it. I really dislike the obvious nicknames, which would put me off.

Stellan · 16/02/2012 12:59

I prefer Juliet too. I like the French variant, Juliette, as well. There's nothing wrong with Imogen though.

LouMacca · 16/02/2012 13:56

Juliet - love it - classy and timeless

Imogen just doesn't do it for me

MamaLazarou · 16/02/2012 14:41

Juliet! Imogens are ten-a-penny but I rarely encounter a Juliet.

birdofthenorth · 16/02/2012 15:08

Love Juliet

Hope88 · 16/02/2012 15:30

Juliet/ Juliette

Maybe Juliet Imogen

SkiBumMum · 16/02/2012 15:35

Heard of 3 baby Juliets this week!

Both pretty names. Juliet works better with Elisabeth than Imogen does IMO.

PercyFilth · 16/02/2012 15:36

Juliet nicer than Imogen, but I prefer Julia. Or even Juliana.

EllenParsons · 16/02/2012 19:52

Imogen but I love both of them!

winkle2 · 16/02/2012 20:08

Juliet

Vegansdownthestreet · 16/02/2012 20:17

Juliet. Personally I think everyone's named Imogen nowadays.

PestoPenguin · 16/02/2012 20:20

Martha Elspeth, Eliza or Imogen

Juliet will be constantly mis-pronounced as Juliette.

londonlottie · 16/02/2012 23:18

How on earth does the pronunciation of Juliet differ from the pronunciation of Juliette? Hmm

Juliet- Our beautiful angel dd2 is Juliet and dd1 is Elizabeth so you have great taste in names if you go for Juliet ElisabethGrin. Our Juliet was know as Jet or Letti(dc 1&2 'made' these nns up for her)

TheCrunchUnderfoot · 17/02/2012 15:06

Juliet, Juliette is lovely too

pilates · 17/02/2012 15:16

Imogen

PestoPenguin · 17/02/2012 16:19

In British English Juliet is correctly pronounces with the emphasis on the JU, rather than the emphasis on the ETTE in Juliette. Pronouncing the former as the latter is an Americanism.

Listen at 20 seconds in.

londonlottie · 17/02/2012 16:30

Hm, well I have to say the difference is nothing more than a nuance, and can't say that in two years I have ever noticed anyone pronouncing it 'correctly' or 'incorrectly'... Hmm
