OK! We have a little girl. 1 day old and nameless.

There are our two potential candidates that I would like your opinions on/ votes for. Please do not be overly negative as we will be using one of these names.

So is it...

Florence

or

Inken (In-ken)

TotorosOcarina · 07/01/2011 11:14

Florence.

christabell · 07/01/2011 11:17

Have never heard of Inken - is it a foreign name? Quite like Florence, I would go for that.

PorkChopSter · 07/01/2011 11:18

It would help if we knew why Inken.
Otherwise Florence is going to win.

Highlandgirl · 07/01/2011 11:21

FLorence too common, go for Inken and be a bit different

GwendolineMaryLacey · 07/01/2011 11:31

Agree we need to know more about Inken otherwise everyone is going to go for Florence simply because they haven't heard of Inken.

taintedsnow · 07/01/2011 11:33

Congratulations!

Would normally go for Florence, but have taken a dislike to it after the Cameron's chose it.

Am very curious about Inken....what's the reasoning behind that?

Crystylline · 07/01/2011 11:44

Inken - It's a Nordic name - like Inge.

I like it very much!

Psammead · 07/01/2011 11:47

Inken is lovely!

ShoppingDays · 07/01/2011 12:15

Florence.

Inken reminds me of ink, and people will always be asking you to spell it and explain it. I do like Inge though.

Hai1988 · 07/01/2011 12:17

Florence

Cbell · 07/01/2011 12:44

Thanks for the help. I thought we would have an epiphany moment...as in YES! She's definitely a ...Florence or Inken bur No.

To make matters worse we each prefer a different name.

Inken - is a Nordic name. We just like the sound of it and I used to teach a sweet little girl with the same name. Also like Inkie as a nickname.

Florence just because it is lovely but yes have the same negative Cameron associations.

This is much more difficult that I was expecting.

Congratulations :)

Personally I prefer Florence. Don't worry too much about the Camerons - I don't meet little Leos and think of the Blairs.

diddl · 07/01/2011 12:54

Does either go better with surname?

I prefer Inken tbh.

But I do find Florence old fashioned & a bit "now".

whysolate · 07/01/2011 13:02

Congratulations!

Florence is lovely.

Komondor · 07/01/2011 14:00

FLorence

mumoftoomany · 07/01/2011 14:29

Inken is lovely and a bit different. Inkie is a cute nickname.

Florence is very 'trendy' and will eventually date more. Also don't like the nicknames, Flo, Flossie, Florrie...

ShowOfHands · 07/01/2011 14:32

Inken sounds a bit like a pen holder. Based on the egghen, but designed to store your biros.

I do like it though, just hadn't heard it before.

Florence is meh.
