What do you think of Florence? The only response from family has been a raised eyebrows!

Any other suggestions most welcomed!

Elizabeth Fox

MsFox · 07/12/2010 10:19

Have always liked Elizabeth.

Not keen on any of those I'm afraid thumbplumpuddingwitch.

So short list so far:
Matilda
Elizabeth
Olivia

and now for boys...? Grin

Always thought we'd have a William...what do you think?

Highlandgirl · 07/12/2010 10:30

William nn Will Fox....Bloody brilliant name!

What about Ben Fox???

Love Elizabeth, so many lovely nn if you wanted.

I know a family called Fox..and regardless of the first names all the boys are called Fox or Foxy..!

MsFox · 07/12/2010 10:33

Not keen on Ben, far too popular round here!

Need some more options though, just in case William doesn't 'suit'!

We like Freddie/Fredrick/Fred.

MsFox · 07/12/2010 10:35

Oh...the one down side to William, is we will then have a Harry and Wills!

OP posts:
BarbaraWindsor · 07/12/2010 10:36

Sorry, but Flo Fox is like a radiator cleaning product.

It's not a bad surname to find something to suit.

Good luck!

giddly · 07/12/2010 10:37

Elephant not Henrietta
Henry ate a fox....
I used to know a Henrietta RAbbit - not good

MsFox · 07/12/2010 10:38

Fernox. Sorry.

It's a kind of plumbing combo you have going on, flow-flux and fernox.

I mean it's not bad, really, she might go into the trade, it'd be perfect!
Sorry Smile

MsFox · 07/12/2010 10:50

Well now you've completely ruined it for me Grin

OP posts:
BarbaraWindsor · 07/12/2010 10:52

Forewarned is best, though. Seriously Xmas Grin

I shan't bother linking to Easy-flo soldering paste and Fox Flow mountain biking gear then.

I love your other ideas. Freddy is brilliant.

MsFox · 07/12/2010 10:55

Most definately. Especially as we have family in the trade who would have immediately picked up on it!!

Am glad I posted now, I think I was blinded by how much I like the name Florence and chose to ignore the niggles I had about it!

So

Girls:
Matilda
Elizabeth
Olivia

Boys:
William
Freddie

Need one more to balance it out!

OP posts:
WildPansy · 07/12/2010 10:56

Grin at Flo being a plumber. Poor Ms Fox! In my head the tongue twister is along the lines of "Florence Fox knits foreign socks".

I love Elizabeth Fox, that is an awesome name.

thumbplumpuddingwitch · 07/12/2010 10:58

Wilfred!
Combines William and Freddie very neatly, I feel, and gives the option of both Will and Freddie as nns.

Or Oscar.

BarbaraWindsor · 07/12/2010 10:58

Could you put Florence in the middle? I agree it's a beautiful name. My first proper doll was called Florence. Smile

So I do understand.

ChippyMinton · 07/12/2010 10:59

Florence Fox is a wonderful name. No problems at all! Go for it!

MsFox · 07/12/2010 11:09

We've established that she would have to be a plumber though LetLoveRule.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 07/12/2010 11:41
