The full name would be Bunny Matilda Wright, both of these names are from my nans.
Genuine opinions would be grateful.

Some people will think the name is silly but i think it works quite well.

Bunny is too awful for words.

MmeLindt · 10/09/2010 11:20

Mathilda is lovely but Bunny is horribly cruel, sorry.

What were your Nan's names?

thisisyesterday · 10/09/2010 11:20

i very, very, very rarely say this on here, but i think Bunny is an awful name.

chipshopchips · 10/09/2010 11:21

No- the poor girl will be sniggered at for all of her school life- by other kids and parents too.

chipshopchips · 10/09/2010 11:22

Could Bunny not be a middle name, then at least she doesn't have to tell people about it if she doesn't want to?

ZZZenAgain · 10/09/2010 11:23

I agree with Cloudydays, call her any first name you like and give her nickname Bunny. As a given name Bunny doesn't work for me. Was it really your grandmother's given name?

BaggedandTagged · 10/09/2010 11:24

To be fair, there was a big, strapping, male cop on "The Wire" called Bunny. It kind of worked on him.

Weirdly, I have mainly heard of men being called Bunny as a nickname rather than women.

However, people get called all sorts of NN's but agree with other posters that you shd call her a proper name and use Bunny as a NN if you feel so imcline.

Housewife2010 · 10/09/2010 11:28

You're potty. Don't do it.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 10/09/2010 11:28

I can envisage a very posh grown woman named Bunny. Although the Bunny would be derived from another name I imagine.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 10/09/2010 11:30

A real life Bunny

MollysChambers · 10/09/2010 11:30

You're 'aving a larf. Surely?

Is this a joke... B.M.W...her nickname could be BeemerSmile...if it's not a joke then i like Matilda v.much (Tilly,Mattie,Tilda) but sorry,not Bunny(girl)

InmyheadIminParis · 10/09/2010 11:32

Why not save Bunny for your own family name for her, but give her the name Matilda for the rest of the world to use. Lots of childrens have a very strong nick name which just family and close friends use.

sparkle12mar08 · 10/09/2010 13:25

Utterly, utterly dreadful.

PosieParker · 10/09/2010 13:26

I have niece called Bunty, she could be Bunny for a nn.

SoLongAsItsHealthy · 10/09/2010 13:28

Have only ever heard Bunny used as a male nickname.

For a girl, you are labelling her up and sending her down the stripping pole.

You did ask. I think you knew...

Don't do it!

TheBolter · 10/09/2010 14:53

You could POSSIBLY get away with Matilda Bunny, but if you want my advice I would steer well clear!

Thissideofchannel · 10/09/2010 15:15

The girl's name Bunny \b(un)-ny\ is of English origin. Nickname deriving from B- names such as Barbara or Bernice.

Bunny has 3 variant forms: Bunnee, Bunni and Bunnie.

For more information, see also the related name Bonnie.

Baby names that sound like Bunny are Bonny, Binny and Benny.

Bunny is a somewhat common first name for women (#3280 out of 4276) but an uncommon last name for both men and women. (1990 U.S. Census)

mathanxiety · 10/09/2010 15:23

Bonnie is very nice.

Vivienne sometimes got 'Bunty' as a nn back in the days when they chose nns for no apparent reason (maybe this was your granny's name?)

Matilda as a mn makes me think of Waltzing Matilda, but it's lovely as a first name.

allbie · 10/09/2010 19:57

Dislike both. Crikey, she'd have to be drop dead gorgeous to carry off those names!
