if all the sightings I've heard of this name recently were real, it would have to be a really popular name (or a girl who moves around a lot!)

LilMagill · 03/08/2010 23:53

I'm going to need to see proof, math. That's been going around as an urban legend in my neck of the woods for years.

I met a little girl called Xavia the other day and thought it unique and pretty. Of course wait until some mean jr high boys start calling her Labia...

zazen · 04/08/2010 02:56

Female, pronounced Fee-mal-éy

I haven't heard of a Mary for ages.

Edith
Clemency
Stella

But people don't really mean "unusual" when they say "unusual'. I think they mean "something that will make people think I am a truly original, unusual person"

There is a John, a Peter and a Martin in my ds's class - people are always commenting on how unusual they are. Nobody ever says that about the Chantilly, the two Madisons, the Trinity or the Demi.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 07/08/2010 01:53

Patience
Prudence (actually i do know one of these and it doesn't improve with time)
Marianne
Hildegarde

hobbgoblin · 07/08/2010 01:56

Pleonie or Pum or Velvet - these were on my list but outlawed by DP

darksideofthemooncup · 07/08/2010 03:50

I went to college with a Hero, an absolutely fabulous name in my opinion. (She had a really good surname too though)
My dd is a Sadie and would really love a Romy if I a) get pregnant again and b) have a girl.
Some great suggestions on here.
