I like them all. Have you also considered Sian?

zenoushka · 30/07/2010 17:56

Niamh and Orla go well together.

Orla

Hassled · 30/07/2010 18:46

I love Aoife. Fionnuala? Siobhan?

grumpypants · 30/07/2010 18:47

Isla? or Orla, definitely.

LaundryLyne · 30/07/2010 18:53

Eimear sounds quite nice but I prefer it with the spelling Emer.

freerangeeggs · 30/07/2010 19:07

Niamh and Orla are lovely together.

I like all the names on your list - they're lovely. Ava is pretty but a bmayit boring compared to the others, and the sounds are maybe slightly repetitive when pired with Niamh.

ValiumSingleton · 30/07/2010 19:33

Orla is nice.

I really don't like Emer, but I knew some horrible ones at school. Aoife is nice but not with Niamh.

Does it have to be Irish? What about Nina, Faith, Joy or Ellen? They are all quite simple names that go with one syllable name like Niamh.

My favourite Irish name (although it isn't really Gaelic) is Clodagh

PaulineCampbellJones · 30/07/2010 20:02

Orla definitely! Love Aoife too.

proudfoot · 30/07/2010 21:23

Orla

Ava sounds too close to Niamh IMO

chatee · 30/07/2010 21:24

Sinead

SE13Mummy · 30/07/2010 22:15

Orla or Aoife.

How about Saoirse? It means liberty.

LaDiDaDi · 30/07/2010 22:17

Orla

Haliborange · 30/07/2010 22:18

Iona, if it doean't have to be Irish.

bunique · 30/07/2010 22:23

Niamh is two syllables!

Depends where you live I think - I don't like the sound of Orla in Southern English accents (Awe-la) but it's lovely when said properly. Similar with Emer (E-mah). My cousins are Niamh and Sinead which go well together, but I think they're all lovely names.

ValiumSingleton · 30/07/2010 22:29

wright is a tricky sur name. Because I was just thinking Iona is beautiful, but then with Wright, it sounds like I own the right (like the rights to music or a brand or something).

Haliborange · 30/07/2010 22:32

That's my problem with Isla, Valium.

"Where are you going on holiday?"
"Isla Wright"

NonnoMum · 30/07/2010 22:34

Eilis (ay-lish)?

SiriusStar · 30/07/2010 22:35

Morwenna?

ValiumSingleton · 30/07/2010 22:51

ooooh no! it sounds like one of those joke names like Ben Dover or Annette Curtin

LJS666 · 30/07/2010 23:02

How is Niamh 2 syllables? I thought it was like Neve? Siobhan is an excellent name.

LynetteScavo · 30/07/2010 23:08

Orla.

chipmonkey · 30/07/2010 23:27

LJ, Niamh is sort of one and a half syllables, Nee-av but the av is said very quickly!

jellybeans · 31/07/2010 00:06

Ava
