Hi folks,I've added some card piccies to the 'all new' folder.Go on give me your honest opinions please.Any suggestions on how to improve them would be great it's always nice to have someones elses eye on your work.Have just bought some friendly plastic today to play with. Not sure how to use it so am going back to the shop tomorrow for a demo.

Dingle · 18/05/2005 17:14

I'll have a look in a mo layla. Was chatting earlie rabout friendly plastic, I've done a link somewhere!!

Carolinett · 18/05/2005 18:37

I love all the cards, my favourite is Mini envelope,

You asked for honest feedback, there's definitely no need for improvement they're all great but ref; "Friends Card" & "Friends Flowers"

When you put these in an envelope would it spoil the trims sticking out?
I guess you would have to fold the trim over the card to put it in the envelope, would this then flatten the trim do you think?

layla · 18/05/2005 20:43

Hi Carolinett, yes I suppose it would a bit. You'd have to fold them over.I do to get them in the plastic wallets.I once made a card with 2 charms on and it was too heavy to stand up and would just topple over lol.The charms were attached with wire. Thanks for your honest opinions.

Carolinett · 18/05/2005 20:58

The charm story really made me laugh cos I did something similar, spent hours making it. I was gutted,

champs · 19/05/2005 00:31

layla -- what lovely cards!! I think they're wonderful. do you know we have all really improved over the past months!!

btw, that bag is pretty!!

hi5 · 19/05/2005 11:55

Layla - FP link is on kkgirls'inspiration-lack of' thread. Shall we start a FP thread?

Kayleigh · 19/05/2005 12:31

Just dropping onto this thread to thank Dior for the gorgeous cards that arrived today. She has made me 3 based on her card of clothes hanging on the washing line. Two are for boys in their favourite football team colours and the one for my friends 16 year old daughter is just stunning with a pair of flared tassled jeans and a pink sparkly top.

They are just so professional looking and were done really quickly to my very pedantic specifications

You are a very clever lady. Thanks so much. X

Hi folks, thanks so much for the nice feeback about my cards.

Hi5 yes I'll start a friendly plastic thread for some tips.

Whizzz · 22/05/2005 20:57

Well, I've been busy.
I got some good comments back about Dippy Dinosaur so I have added Silly Sheep, Silly Snail & Fat Cat to the Whizzz album !!
They are all blank at the moment, so I can add childrens (or adults !) names and/ ages.

Let me know what you think.
I love funky foam !

champs · 22/05/2005 22:06

lol!! what fun cards. Great!! kiddies (young and young at heart) will love them, well done.

Carolinett · 23/05/2005 11:43

Hi Whizz
The cards are great again another load of successful creations.

Just an idea I pick up over the weekend
Cut a piece of sticky foam you know the 3D stuff you can buy on rolls about 1/4 or 1/2 inch wide
put it on the card where the face would go. Get a small piece of wire wrap it around a pencil to make a small spring.
Stick one end on the pad on the back of the face and the other end on the pad on the card.
IMPORTANT sprinkle talc between the two so the pads don't stick together.
The face then wobbles & moves You could do it with a whole cut out aslong as it isn't to big

I did it this weekend with a little girl footballer card, not just her head I did the whole image. I stuck a footbaIl on one of her feet when you touch her other leg it give the effect of her kicking the ball. It looks great

Whizzz · 23/05/2005 18:16

I was trying to think how to make a wobbly head ! I tried a few things but I didn't think anything would hold firm enough. I'll give it a go with my next batch

Carolinett · 23/05/2005 18:18

Did I explain it OK whizz

Whizzz · 23/05/2005 18:21

Yes, cheers! I tried various bits of wire but they were all either too bendy or too thick ! But then as the cards were aimed at children, I also didn't want them to be pulled off to reveal a pointy wire !

Carolinett · 23/05/2005 18:30

Yes your right but there is some very thin plastic tubing you can thread your wire through if you can't find it in the craft shops give me a shout I'll got a small bag full

Jayzmummy · 25/05/2005 21:53

Just to let you know I have added some new cards to my New Album....I bet you'll all guess where the papers came from. Let me know what you think of them.

OP posts:
Carolinett · 25/05/2005 22:41

Are they the ones dated the 9th may

Carolinett · 25/05/2005 22:45

Because if they are I've got that paper and my cards don't look like that.
They are stunners
