Actually, looking at the True Bias patterns, the Zoey top/dress might be what i'm after as my fabric is stretch.

Hi, I’ve just found you guys due to another thread, just posting here to see if you are starting a new thread soon!

dubyalass · 28/08/2022 13:35

I’ve just cut out another pair of Megan Nielsen Ash jeans in the slim version. Made a 16 last time but going for an 18 this time because my current pair are somewhat neat! Also going to cut out a Wardrobe By Me 3/4 sleeved t-shirt for the autumn. Busy busy!

Jins · 28/08/2022 20:27

@NutellaEllaElla This blog post alters the back to the sort of shape you’re after. I’m sure I’ve seen something similar elsewhere.

But yes, you just match the alterations on the main piece and the lining. It’s a very hackable pattern

NutellaEllaElla · 28/08/2022 21:16

Thank you @Jins ! I am spoilt for choice now and am not sure which to do 🤣
Zoey dress pros - it's a pattern for stretch fabric and mine is a stretch. It comes with neckline options as part of the package. Cons - It's a closer fit but I could just make a larger size.
Ogden hack cons - it's a lot of hacking adjustments, it's for woven fabric.

I think i'm probably going to go for the Zoey this time.

Welcome @sorbetseason, I will get a new thread going as soon as i've thought of a suitable pun for the title Grin

@dubyalass you are going to be well prepared for autumn! I'm still clinging on to Summer with my dress plans.

Argh now i'm unsure again. I'll sleep on it. Hoping to have some time for sewing tomorrow.

I’d say go for the pattern that’s for the right type of fabric Nutella - whenever I get overconfident and go off-piste with fabric choices it bites me on the bum. A woven pattern made up in stretch usually looks oversized and saggy in parts but not all over in my experience.

Welcome @sorbetseason what kind of things do you like to sew?

I think I need to move on to cooler weather sewing plans. I want to make a Deer and Doe plantain top or two, and I’d love to make myself some jeans that fit. I might need a class for that though.
I also have plans for some jumpers.
Sewing room needs a tidy first though, I hate sewing in a mess but also cannot tidy as I go 🙈

pastabest · 28/08/2022 22:45

my mind has definitely flipped entirely to AW22/23 now

I'm going to bite the bullet and make a Closet Core Jasika blazer in some really dark grey wool. I've got the pattern out tonight with good intentions of tracing it off but there are THIRTY FIVE pieces. So I'm going to be naughty and cut it out.

Welcome SorbetSeason - I am also looking forward to a new thread as this one keeps crashing my browser and losing the posts I'm trying to make!

NutellaEllaElla · 29/08/2022 06:37

My browser keeps crashing too! But I thought it was MN generally,

Here's the new thread! Mark your place and let's hope the crashing stops. I'm looking forward to seeing your plans, progress and completed projects!

Thank you @SBAM, that sounds like good logic to me. I am very happy I found the Zoey pattern as it is right up my street and reminded me of a RTW dupe from Ted Baker I was planning on making.

Jeans finished! I'm an old hand at them now, took around a day all in. I didn't get around to cutting out the t-shirt in the end; I'll do that next week. I'll post a photo tomorrow when I've got the jeans on. Glad I sized up this time - the fit seems much better but I'm not yet sure if the stretch denim has good recovery.
