Well... it’s taken a dark turn with Kevin flavia Blush

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 22/12/2021 18:45

It's ok, he's back up and planning his defence Wink ignore the carnage in the background...

NiceCardigan · 22/12/2021 19:50

He’s great Flavia!

sophs29 · 22/12/2021 19:58

Wow @FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack he looks great! Love the battle plan
@Peckhampalace what a lovely idea! Looks great!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 22/12/2021 19:59

Thanks! His eyes are a little big I think but they're the smallest ones I have so he'll do Grin

InTheNightWeWillWish · 22/12/2021 21:45

Flavia he looks great. I live his battle plan Grin

I got my Christmas present from work today, a lifestyle voucher for £20 so I can choose which place to spend it in from a select few. One of the options is Royal Caribbean, I did ask DH how far he thinks we’d get for £20 Grin I can choose John Lewis or Hobby Craft and while I need some kitchen stuff from John Lewis, DH has a couple of gift cards which should should cover that. So it’s £20 of yarn from John Lewis or Hobby Craft! Despite the fact that last year I used the voucher to buy yarn which is still sat in my yarn storage waiting to be used Blush Although it is earmarked for a specific project in mind, I’ve just not got round to actually starting it.

As most of you work in education, I realise this is probably the equivalent of a yarn stealth boast, so apologies Grin

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 22/12/2021 22:46

Brilliant InTheNight Grin enjoy spending it!

The battle plans came with the pattern! I just had to print them out which was amazing Smile

sophs29 · 23/12/2021 08:53

@FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack the add on of the battle plan in the pattern is such a great extra detail!
I made my mums neighbour a little cat decoration for her tree and I only had large eyes so I know what you mean but I think yours look great!

@InTheNightWeWillWish enjoy spending your gift card! We don't really have a John Lewis nearby so I've never browsed what they have! I am making sure I go to Hobby craft in the new year though, I don't think I've ever actually gone in store! I always shop online! 😳

Is it wrong that I instantly have a John Lewis haberdashery shopping list in mind? Several ways to spend £20 I can think of! Enjoy

Lovely cat @sophs29 Smile the eyes are fine.

I've knitted nothing for Christmas this year. Is am - guess what? - umming and ahhing over scarf patterns again!

crazyjinglist · 23/12/2021 09:25

I've knitted nothing for Christmas either, @MerylSqueak - I always like the idea of making knitted decorations etc, but I learned long ago that I'm kidding myself if I think I'll start or finish them in time!

InTheNightWeWillWish · 23/12/2021 09:37

sophs John Lewis for us is in the big city (we live in a village of a small city but it’s only a city because it has a cathedral, so shopping is limited which usually suits us) and that’s an hour away. We’re both a bit meh about the big city having lived there for years and traffic is always awful. The John Lewis haberdashery section there is quite small and doesn’t really have much yarn stocked in it, more needles and sewing boxes, so it’s usually online for us anyway. Hobby craft is also in the big city and traffic is really bad getting to that. There aren’t other hobby crafts locally to me Shock definite downside to the house! So it’ll be online either way. I love the cat. It’s a really sweet little decoration.

meryl it’s limiting myself to the £20 that’s the problem Grin John Lewis has some really nice yarns. I bought some yarn for my birthday and I love it. Ive not used it yet but I just like looking at it. I take it out the cupboard every now and then just to admire it! If more restrictions are introduced, I know from experience that means me spending money on yarn then I have something to look forward to. I’ve already got my eye on two chunky bundles on another site because I like the colour ways. No idea what I’ll do with them or who I’ll give them to when finished but I like the colours. So part of me is saying to not spend it straight away in case there’s restrictions and the part of me with poor impulse control is saying ‘spend now, it’s someone else’s money’.

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 23/12/2021 11:33

Awh, cute cat sophs! Smile

If you don't have a deadline on it I wonder if Hobbycraft do discounts in January InTheNight? More wool for your voucher Smile

DeadButDelicious · 24/12/2021 10:53

I've found you all again! Hurray!

I have been a very busy bee this festive season. I've knitted/crocheted 3 gifts, a large parrot for my dad, a very large Mr Blobby for my daughter and The Hypnotoad for my DH. I think my fingers my drop off. Grin

Loving all your projects! The cat is so cute! As is Kevin! Hope you all have a very merry Christmas!

MerylSqueak · 25/12/2021 12:26

Merry Christmas everyone!

I have had 20 balls of wool a knitting bag, a neck light and a book on Norwegian knitting with some truly hideous dirndle style garments in it (and some nice hats).

CrochetBug · 25/12/2021 13:21

Oh lucky you @MerylSqueak! I haven't had any presents yet!

sophs29 · 25/12/2021 13:49

Hope you all have a lovely day!

lucysmam · 25/12/2021 15:05

The animal slippers book sounds fun! I got the two balls of yarn I wanted to do dd1 the stripey, laced up, socks, so I'm happy. I've got the mantis to finish for Tuesday then will likely start those Xmas Smile

MerylSqueak · 25/12/2021 15:22

My not so fantastic Christmas present was a positive COVID test from one of my guests Sad.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 25/12/2021 16:29

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you’re all having a lovely day.

Everyone is terribly excited that I’ve started to crochet as it means they can actually find things to buy me now! I’ve got a neck, some Tunisian crochet hooks, a bag, some books including Edwards menagerie, an amigurumi fairytale book and the animal slippers book with sophs. Of course I’ve been very good this year, hardly swore at my colleagues (mostly because I worked from home Grin) so treated myself to some yarn that’ll turn up during the week. DH also bought this mug! I think he has more faith in my crochet skills than I do Grin

Sorry you’ve got a positive Covid test Meryl. Hopefully you don’t feel too awful. Has that scuppered any plans?

Dead I love the hypbo toad. Missing the point entirely but is Mr Blobby back or is your DD just retro? I thought Mr Blobby disappeared when I was young.
