Where do you all keep your yarns and needles and hooks? Mine are currently stuffed into a drawstring bag that resembles my PE kit bag from primary school. I just want to feel a bit more organised.

What do you use?

Really Useful Boxes

I have a tower of those really useful drawer towers but there is 10 shallow drawers in mine, all different colors. It's lovely.

I have a selection of yarns and my hooks and miscellaneous bits are all stored in there. I then have 3 very large really useful boxes with extra yarn in and a IKEA unit with yarn in too.

Our box room got reclaimed as a bedroom too. Poor ds1, I'm biding my time until he leaves so I can reclaim the room for my yarn stash.

I'm reasonably new to crocheting, but got well and truly bitten by the bug!

WIPs are kept in foldable bags for life that I got from B&Ms. I chuck in a record card that says what yarn, size hook, pattern I'm using.

All hooks, needles, pins, thread cutters stitch counters and other paraphernalia are kept in a giant mesh pencil case. It's not completely transparent but it is see-through enough to help me find things.

Yarn is currently in a pop-up laundry bin, bagged separately by type.

Books have their own shelf of honour on my bookshelves.

I have an old wooden blanket box / chest which is home to all of my yarn. I also have an old painted chest of drawers where I keep all my other crafty bits and bobs.

Lemon my out and about bag is from Woolly Hugs - they're an amazing bunch who make / put together blankets for ill and bereaved families: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/woolly_hugs

Are they stacked boxes or drawers, Lemon?

LemonRedwood · 28/02/2017 22:33

They're drawers, temp, although could have had them as boxes that pull out. Used the design your own tower tool thing on the Really Useful website.

I have a 2x2 kallax unit with the boxes in each hole full of wool and fabric. Books are on top, along with jars of buttons and sewing box. I have a knitting bag where I keep hooks and needles. Whatever I'm working on is either in a basket (for big projects) or one of those drawstring bags you get when you order from Love Knitting.
