Book character costume - post suggestions here please

My DS school is having a sponsored event where they have to dress up as their favourite character from a book. It's on Thursday and I'm running low on inspiration. So come on girls any ideas?

Well, the plastic saucepans are tied on to an old t-shirt so the Saucepan Man he is! Southeastastra and bluebear thanks for getting back to me about that. As a teacher I was just interested. I had always imagined that most children would love a chance to break free for a day but i can see how that would be awful for children who need and crave routine.

my son is only just 5 so imagine he will get used to it. he's only been in year one a couple of weeks so this has sort of thrown him. he'll be fine, he loves dressing up at home

My son is also 5 and in year 1 now!
