Hi girls!!!!!
^^
I'm really happy that you like my granny square!
I read the instructions which you have translated, and there is nothing
wrong ... to be added there is only one secret and is the voltage of the
wire that has to be always always always very tense ... pulls every point
and never let your thread becomes limp.
Good job!!

Ciao Giuliana!!!!
You're a star for coming to talk to us!!
Your blanket is by far the prettiest crochet blanket I have ever seen. If you saw my 'crochet' board in Pinterest you'd realise what a complement this is! Smile
I think I am going to continue making the blanket with standard granny squares as per my photo above, I don't feel I can pull yours off, but who knows...
I am using Stylecraft colours which are lovely but not quite as vibrant as the ones from your blanket. What yarn did you use?
Sorry one more question, where is your beautiful blanket right now? Do you use it?

ThanksThanksThanks

I am going ahead with the blanket, using Giuliana's as inspiration for the colours, but it doesn't look like I can pull off her pattern and I am a bit confused with the mix of instructions here.

Initially I am making a whole bunch of 2 rounds of traditional granny square. I haven't decided how I want to join them. I have never done this before. I know I don't like the grid look where the stitch attaching the squares is really bumpy. I'd like it to be seamless. What technique should I use?

I was vaguely thinking that I could add a white 4th round to all the squares and then attach with white yarn, and that will make it seamless?

The puffiest I got was by doing round one as standard trebles, turning the work over, using puff stitches for round 2, turning it back over and using standard trebles for round 3.

As for joining, you need to investigate the "Join as you go" methods. I know Attic24 has one (as mentioned on the blog below) but I think there are some different ones too. I've never got the hang of it.

If you join them all at the end with a slip stitch using the front loop only of the edge stitches, you get a flat "grid" rather than a ridge. It's not seamless though.

Thanks Owl. If I decided to join the squares directly without a white border first, so colour against colour, what colour yarn should I use?

No idea! That makes it tricky.

When I joined the squares for the Chenobyl Wooly Hug I put together recently, I just chose a colour which seemed to be used the most and went with that. The squares did not all have the same border.

The stitches shouldn't show on the front side (although actually they might with the front-loop-only method I tried below now I think of it.)

I'm sorry that you can not do :) but I understand ... my more than one technique is a way I do crochet, for that reason I can not work for a long time the hands become sore very quickly, but unfortunately I can not change the way I do and I soon realized that I really like .. :) the blanket I donated to a wonderful person who is also a photographer who has photographed at his home (Valdirose has a blog) is for this the photos are beautiful ... and possibly the most beautiful blanket also looks :) I use a wool 50% wool and 50% sintentica that allows me to remain always nice breeze (if possible) I am really happy that you like my blanket and I must say that I will soon video, in Italian, about how I work and perhaps clarify a bit ', I warn you!
