Gorja · 19/11/2012 15:01

Can somebody help?

I have been given some wool but I don't know what size crochet hook to use.

Two types of wool, one say knitting needle size 4.5 metric, the other says knitting needle 7 metric.

My crochet hooks are metal with sizes 6.5 mm 4 mm 8 mm etc.

So what size do I use, I am very confused!

Thanks

I'm no expert, Gorja, but I'd use the one that worked best with the yarn - ie. big enough to catch the yarn, but not too big, iyswim. But I could well be wrong.

SoupDragon · 19/11/2012 17:20

This looks useful. It seems to imply that "metric" is just mm and, based on this, I would try a similarly numbered hook. Is the 4.5 like a DK yarn and the 7 chunky?
