Very important - button tin...

It's my birthday today and my wonderful dp has got me a mixed bag of buttons (from Duttons for buttons Grin). I love them but now need to find the perfect button tin.

It needs to be round, not too big (a Celebrations tin would be too big) and just right..

Any suggestions?! I don't mind buying a tin of something (anything!) if it's the right tin!

Thank you Smile

For my birthday last year, my best friend bought me a mixed bag of vintage buttons, and it was easily my favourite birthday present although I told DP it was the pasta machine I had been pestering for. Some of them even still have bits of thread attached where they have been sewn onto things. They live in a quality street tin, but a small one, about 6" across. I use them occasionally if I have something that just needs one button, as there aren't many duplicates.

My buttons for clothes are in one of those plastic bead storage things with lots of compartments - if they were all mucked in together I'd never know how many I had of a given button, and would be constantly peeved at only having four when I need five.

My mum's buttons were in a similar thing, and I did used to like "sorting" them into colours, sizes, two / four holes, fabric covered, etc. Ah, I like buttons.

Re: Dressmaker's mannequin. I saw one in a second hand shop for £5 once. I have kicked myself for the last ten years for not buying that. How stupid am I?
