That paper from Costco...

I bought an extra pack of that Costco paper (also availabel from British Bookshops/Sussex Stationers which is where I got mine from) and am going to split it and see ifI can sell it on Ebay

Now, how shall I split it? There are 6 colours and 10 designs and you get 3 sheets of each design in each colour.

  1. Split the pack into 3 with 1 of each design in each colour which gives 60 sheets of paper per set.
  2. as above but split in half so you only get 5 designs so 30 sheets
  3. as above but split in half again giving 15 sheets.
  4. I could split the pack and sell each design or colour separately (although my gut feeling is that a variety of designs and colours is better)

What do you think? I'm certainly not planning on ripping anyone off for postage and would be charging a reasonable price (which is another question... what is a reasonable price so the buyer is happy that they're getting a bargain but I make enough to part-fund my recent purchases from a couple of US websites...?)

I'd have to sell it to you at cost though because, morally, I couldn't do anything else for a MNer.

I was gutted they only had one pack left! I might have to send my mum into her local one to see if they have any.

just been to the one in manchester and they had piles of it. i ony bought one, and am just about to look lovingly at it.

Whizzz · 14/01/2006 16:14

I'll have to meet you there one day AQ !
Even with the 1 pack I bought for myself I doubt whether I'll ever use it all !! I'm just not organised enough to sell it on & make some pennies!

SoupDragon · 14/01/2006 16:17

I'm not really organised enough either but I happened to be in the shop and there happened to be one pack left...

I will certainly be splitting out the pink from my own pack though as I am really not a pink person. Brings me out in a rash

I am now going to spread out my Make My Fortune pack and see what is actually there. Will get back to you Dior As I said, MN is not for profit, that's what Ebay is for!

is that yuour local too Whizzz?

we couldn't decide between M/C and Oldham, it all depended on the football.

i will give you a shout if i am going during the week and we could have a mini-meet-up.

Whizzz · 14/01/2006 16:23

We either go there or to Haydock.
Unfortunately I work in the week (...at the moment(!) - Although thats a different story !!)

  • I bet we all ens up sellng some & EBay will be flooded with the stuff
Whizzz · 14/01/2006 16:35

Look how much for 20 sheets lets all get on there !

Whizzz · 14/01/2006 16:36

You can judge your price from this lot!

SoupDragon · 14/01/2006 16:54

Ooooh - my paper is different to the costco set...

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 14/01/2006 16:56

It's this set here but was 180 sheets for £9.99

SoupDragon · 14/01/2006 16:57

pmsl at "ligament free" in the description!!

OP posts:
Whizzz · 14/01/2006 16:58

Oh I see - the Costco stuff is around £9 for 360 sheets. Personally I think you'd do better selling smaller matching lots of the paper if you wanted to make some money. (but I'm no expert}

SoupDragon · 14/01/2006 16:58

Anyway, Dior (and anyone else), have a look at that link and let me know what you fancy if any. It's quite bright.

Although that Ebay description says "ligament free" the blurb on the pack doesn't mention lignum free but it is acid free.

Matching in colour or design or both?

OP posts:
Whizzz · 14/01/2006 17:00

LOL it's nice to have paper though that's free of any ligaments !

SoupDragon · 14/01/2006 17:01

Oh, now this is another sneaky option... chop each sheet into 4! Not sure I could be ar$ed to go to that much trouble though.

pmsl

we all ahve this paper and there's so much we don't know what to do with it

i am trying to sort mine out into colours and am overwhemlmed -- i am going to have a rest and make chicken maryland instead.

Whizzz · 14/01/2006 18:08

I haven't used any of it yet !
There is just too much of it but it was so cheap - you jst had to have it!

pootlepod · 14/01/2006 18:19

I think the first option is the best- you are more likely to sell 20 sheets than 90 and you can start it at 99p to minimise costs. I would try and 'colour code' a bit.

I have organised mine AQ . Took a while but great fun to look through it all.

AuntyQuated · 14/01/2006 18:38

but have you used any pootle?

i think i have enough papre here to do scarp book apges for all my pics that i have ever taken

pootlepod · 14/01/2006 19:23

Yup I have used them for about 6 cards! Might get around to some scrapbooking tonight if I can get off the computer!

SoupDragon · 14/01/2006 19:31

I@m like tht with all the stuffI get. It's all mgpie like "Oooh, that's nice, that's noce, that's noce..." and then i don't know what to do with it or can't bear to ct it or whatever!
