I have just bought 360 sheets (12 x 12") of scrapbook paper (4 sheets of each of 90 designs) - patterns & colours with co ordinating solid colours for just over £9. There is alsorts, ginghams, stripes, stars, flowers ... everything !! Nice quality too !
3p a sheet

Happy to split / swap / sell with others as there is no way I can use it all.

Every one of my cards from now on will have a funky background!

I bought it last week for DD! Is it too good for a child - will I have to have it instead?

merrySOAPBOXingday · 30/12/2005 18:47

Did you see the alphabet and other punches too?

peckarollover · 30/12/2005 18:48

are there any other good craft bits in costco?

FairyTaleinNewYork · 30/12/2005 18:49

can you sell me enough to make peter a scrapbook? mainly have pics of the kids, and a few of me.

JayzMummysATurkeyStuffer · 30/12/2005 18:51

No cost co here
Whizz if I send you some cash would you be able to get me a pack of the papers??...I need some for Ds2's school and they are on a very tight budget.

merrySOAPBOXingday · 30/12/2005 18:54

Misdee - if I was you I'd just buy a couple of nice sheets of good quality wrapping paper from the newsagents and use that

ChampsOnIce · 30/12/2005 18:59

whizzz me too please if you have the time.

merrySOAPBOXingday · 30/12/2005 19:01

The pack weighs a ton - god know's how much it would cost to post - probably as much as the pack cost in the first place!

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 30/12/2005 19:03

Soapy - it does seem good quality - I haven't bought much of this type of paper before but its quite thick. Its cheap enough for kids to play with - depends on how much you want it ! Enough to share I'd say! Did see the punches - I have the lower case punches - Xmas pressie!

Pecka - punch sets are good value at around £25 - upper case + numbers, lower case + punctuation & 2 sets of shapes. Also have glitter glue sets around £9 for loads of pen type glues, construction paper (lowish quality - but useful)

Misdee (I guess thats your new name) - happy to give you a few sheets to cheer up your hubby - CAT me your addy

JM - happy to get you some although the whole pack would be heavy to post which would add to the cost. To give you some idea - the stack of paper is 2" high. I'll try & weigh this pack & see how much it would be

whizzz, is there a special criteria for shopping in costco?

ChampsOnIce · 30/12/2005 19:14

like makro?

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 30/12/2005 19:16

Yes you have to be fab !

No - its a membership thing. Around £25ish a year. You can join with a personal membership or as a trade member if you have a business. Trade memberdship is a bit cheaper.

OP posts:
WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 30/12/2005 19:17

No with Makro you have to be a trader (or know someone who is to get you a card) - Costco - anyone can join

OP posts:
ChampsOnIce · 30/12/2005 19:19

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 30/12/2005 19:23

Before everone gets too excited though, I must point out that stock changes very frequently and they don't always have the stuff mentioned. SOmetimes - no craft stuff at all

merrySOAPBOXingday · 30/12/2005 19:36

Champs there are some in the london area - we use the one at Thurrock, near Lakeside shopping centre.

You need to have a professional qualification on work for the Government, armed forces etc to get membership of Costco if you are not a trader.

popsycalindisguise · 30/12/2005 19:38

oh wow!
have been meaning to get a costco card....

popsycalindisguise · 30/12/2005 19:40

apprently i can join for free as i work for local givernment,,.is that right

merrySOAPBOXingday · 30/12/2005 19:41

No, you still have to pay the membership, but you are in one of the catagories eligable to become a member

pootlepod · 30/12/2005 19:44

What proof do you need then if you are not a trader?

merrySOAPBOXingday · 30/12/2005 19:45

You need your qualification certificate, teaching practice certificate, wage slip or other form of confirmation that you work where you say you work.

ChampsOnIce · 30/12/2005 20:02

lol whizzz, i was getting a little excited huh! lololol was thinking about postage, i would love to take up your offer of swaps/share/sell on some of the papers. rather than pay a huge postage cost, if that's ok..... what you got on your wishlist?

soapbox - ah thats what i thought, is there a list somewhere that tells you who can apply? cant see it on site.

ChampsOnIce · 30/12/2005 20:07

OMGosh!! just seen the american site, you can order online and look here!

merrySOAPBOXingday · 30/12/2005 20:07

It's a useless website isn't it!

As far as I can recall, the list is:

Government employees, including teachers, armed forces

Barristers, lawyers, accountants, surveyors and other equivalent professions.

ChampsOnIce · 30/12/2005 20:10

thanks! i'll see if mummy can get one

ohhh you can buy urns and caskets online too
