Just thought I would start a thread that can be resurrected when any of us have bits and pieces to share.

NQC, there is a tie pattern in the latest issue of Interweave Knits

For hand-dyed yarn fans, I recently ordered some silk from Curious Yarns that was gorgeous. Highly recommended!

Hat looking much better. I'm not sure about the colours, but I've just realised there's another baby due any minute, and it's a school baby (but at least they know the gender! it's bloody inconsiderate, all these people not knowing the gender ahead of time, or at least not telling me!), so that means I need the hat right after it's born really.

So it's this hat, then a girl one. Prob use same yarn, same needles, so skip doing a tension square, anyway!

Hat 1 done. Will put up a piccie tomorrow, probably. Ended up with greek frets, rather than keys, but I would have called them keys, had Barbara G. Walker not indicated otherwise.

Damn, Montse Stanley is good. Whatever I'm wondering about, she's got the answer. Now that I am sewing in ends using the Official Madwoman Method, it annoys me much less. I know I'm doing it the best way, and so I just do it.

quick question: does anyone use angelyarns.co.uk? put an order in to them on tuesday and it hasn't turned up yet. am raring to get on with making my first ever jumper and v. impatient! have checked their site and they said that they normally despatch within two days of order....but to wait 15 days from order date to chase them because royal mail won't investigate until then.
anyone else had problems with their deliveries?
(tamum - thanks for post on herceptin thread!)

NotQuiteCockney · 06/02/2006 13:43

lalaa, I've used them successfully, but tamum says that ukhk always has people ranting about bad service from them. I've got on well with kangaroo, for future reference.

I still owe you a package of yarn. Do you want some of my bamboo straight needles? I'm not using them any more. What gauge are you working in these days?

NotQuiteCockney · 06/02/2006 21:57

Ok, couldn't fit any needles in the padded envelope, but put a bunch of different types of yarn, and a note. Sending it tomorrow. Sorry!

The owner of Angel Yarns has been posting extensively on UKHK recently about how she's turning the business round, and a lot of people are giving them the benefit of the doubt. It seems to come down to the fact that they don't necessarily know what's in stock and most of the emails to them go into the spam filter. I would give it a couple of days and ring if I were you.

(you're welcome by the way- I'm so pleased for you )

NQC - got the wool - thanks very much. Really kind of you. Am making up flags for dd's nursery so good to have lots of different colours. Still waiting for the angelyarns delivery. I'll call on Friday if still nothing.
