Well am the proud owner of a 6x2ft stall from 7-9pm on December 1st. Cost 12.00. Can set up from 4pm. YIKES - this is it now.

Anyone else booked a stall. I thought we could start up a mutual appreciation society for scared people and hopefully get some of you into booking stalls coz we make such lovely cards they deserve an airing!

Ive made up some stockings of reindeer food to sell at my fairs. Last year I made the stockings but this year I just havent had the time so I cheated and bought some....made the tags and filled the stockings with the food....dunno what to charge though...any ideas???

Ive got some of Skribbles sweetie houses and my jewellery stand too so its just a case of bumping up my cards and tags now and I'll be ready. I have fayres booked from the 25th November right the way through to the 17th....Dec....then thats it...it stops...no more card making then til January for me.
Good luck everyone with your stalls.

These are the stockings if your interested in giving me a suggested price to sell them at.

here

those stockings are soooo cute!! Where are they from?? And, what have you put in them?? I guess it depends how much they cost before I suggest a price. I would have said a few pounds - £2 or £3... does that sound reasonable?

jayzmummy · 13/11/2005 15:55

I was thinking maybe £3. Thats what I would pay for them if I saw them. I'd be making a profit if I sold them for betwen £2.50 - £3. The schools I am going to are mostly independant so I know the moneys thereLoads of 4x4 driving Yummy Mummys will loads of spare dosh.

Skribble · 13/11/2005 16:59

The stockings look good, remember to think about the time spent making up labels etc and add the cost of your time. I know you enjoy making stuff but you end up slaving away night after night for nothing.

My next "gig" is a party plan type thing. I am more worried about this than anything I have ever done. I have told the person hosting I don't do a talk through or anything and that I will jsut lay it out and answer questions and point out things that might suit the age of kids they have. Still dreading it though, I have been doing stalls for 3 yrs now and I still get so worked up, I am always up late the night before and forget to take food so spen the whole time with a splitting head.

Does anyone else get really hyped up and stressed about doing fairs. It must be worse for those of you making your own stuff because it is more personal, especially if you have worked for hours only for people to say oh thats nice and walk away.

Oh I am doing Reindeer food as well. This victorian craft party at someones house sold this in envelopes with instructions on the front at 2.99!!!!! My mates bought it and it was glitter.

I have a big jar of bits & pieces of glitter and will be doing it in Envelopes for a pound.

Apparently it was called 'Reindeer Dust' and the instructions on the front said very specifically......If you?

Thats all I can remember.

But will be selling it.

Skrib, I will probably be very stressed the night before. But your cards are gorgeous.

I took some of mine to a friend the other night and she suggested that I sell the A5 ones for 3.50. I said don't be daft people won't buy them. I wouldn't. I need to keep the prices down, so that I sell.

Am going to charge 1.50 for anything other than A5 and 2.20 (don't know where the 20p came in) for the rest.

Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Santa's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home.

I use bird seed and mix it 50/50 with glitter and foiled confetti shapes of reindeers, christmas trees etc.

you can get details from here and there are free labls to download if you want them

jayzmummy · 13/11/2005 18:43

So do you think £3 is an OK price???
Would you pay £3 for one???

Whizzz · 13/11/2005 19:58

I would (£2.50- £3.00), I think they are sweet.

kiwibelle · 13/11/2005 21:53

they are gorgeous and £3 sounds ok. Here's hoping all the yummy mummies bring lots of the daddies cash!!

Glitter in the bird food.... crazy yet so coooot.

Skribble · 13/11/2005 22:03

Thanks UCM but I don't do cards are you confusing me with a gifted, crafty type person. I am just a ruthless business woman .

UCM · 13/11/2005 22:21

Jm Just tried said labels. They are tiny about 1.5inches by 3 inches.

But thanks ever so much for the info.

OP posts:
UCM · 13/11/2005 22:22

Sorry Skrib, was confused as usual.

OP posts:
UCM · 13/11/2005 22:23

Weeeeell don't know. If they were packaged nicely enough, I spose.

OP posts:
jayzmummy · 13/11/2005 23:08

UCM ...If you save the labels as a word document can you enlarge them????

UCM · 13/11/2005 23:50

Nope, I have written them myself, put on green labels and put in small envelopes. Added some pretty ribbon to the labels BTW.

Oats & glitter everywhere, what JOY!!!
