I remember a thread a while ago about what people were making either at the time or like me, have a bit of a list!
Just rather nosily wondered how we were all getting on?

Current:
I'm in the middle of making my second draught excluder for the back door. Just really need to crack on and fill it and sew it up.

To Do:
make my padded noticeboard- need supplies and to finally choose a fabric!

make DP's scrabble tile message Birthday present. Need supplies and advice.

Decide what to do with a few squares of knitting I've done. I'm crap at knitting so no idea what to do.

Your turn :)

Thank you OVMDB I am very lucky to have your help!
will open all links when I am on the pc. I'm so looking forward to my trip to town to get my supplies for some projects. Think financially I need to do them one at a time- rubbish! Found a corkboard for a fiver on amazon. Will check out the pound shop first I think.
I'm also going to be waiting a fortnight until I get my sewing machine, sob!
You have done so much OVMDB, I've appliqued two patches on my draft excluder.
Soupdragon- poor you, it's so frustrating when they jam :(

Oh SoupDragon, I hope you can get it sorted soon!
Like the look of those little snack sacks and the heart garlands!

I have been a little creative Hmm

  • Birth congrats card half made.
  • Aran wool retrived from the depths of the loft and so far rib and 8 whole rows of cable pattern done.

I might even blog later....thud as she fals off her chair with laughter! Blush

overmydeadbody · 07/02/2011 07:52

Well I made my messenger bag and the snack sacks, so two out of three isn't bad!

SoupDragon · 07/02/2011 11:37

[smug]

I fixed it with a couple of screwdrivers, some WD40 and a hammer.

coldcomfortHeart · 07/02/2011 12:14

Hammer?! Well done!

I managed the top and bottom patches of my baby quilt and pinned the sides. Pathetic! No sign of the backing fabric I ordered which might hold things up. That's my excuse anyway!

Dingle · 07/02/2011 16:44

LOL at the hammer! Grin

I have actually taken a few photographs and blogged one of the cards I have made...knitting has been put to one side for the day but I am looking forward to curling up on the sofa tonight and knitting til my little hearts content!

Happy crafting everyone.xx

overmydeadbody · 07/02/2011 17:10

Dingle I love the little butterfly hanging from the ribbon on your card.

Soupy I am truly impressed that you fixed your machine, how exactly was the hammer utilised in your operation?

SoupDragon · 07/02/2011 17:30

Now, this may get technical...

The thingy that goes up and down and has the foot on the bottom was stuck in the up position. The screwdriver undid stuff, the WD40 greased everything and the hammer knocked the stuck block back down [wise look]

It has actually done it before now I think about it although I didn't need the hammer on that occasion.

I did not take photos and thus will not be blogging in :o

SoupDragon · 07/02/2011 17:31

Although it has to be said that, after all that, I can't get the plastic cover back on the end properly. the hammer has been no use there.

overmydeadbody · 07/02/2011 20:41

lol yes very technical Grin

I have found liberal application of WD40 to my machine when it is playing up usually does the trick.

Hope you get the plastic cover pack on.

Photos of my messenger bag now on my profile as I have yet to blog about it. Drinking G&T instead.

overmydeadbody · 07/02/2011 20:42

The bag is stiffened with plastic (I cut up an old A4 file) which gives the bag its structure. I thought that was a rahter resourceful idea.

SoupDragon · 07/02/2011 21:00

Very impressive.

I now need to unstitch the skirt I was turning into a bag and re-pin it so I"m only sewing through the lining to avoid any more hammer usage. I think the sheer bulk of it pushed the, er, "foot rod" up too high and made it stick.

The plastic cover is sort of on but it is clearly not right. I'm reluctant to make too much effort as I will, no doubt, have to take the damn thing off again in the near future :)

Sputnik · 07/02/2011 21:55

I remember that thread.
I'm toying with the idea of recovering a very knackered Marrocan pouf I have with an Ikea flokati rug. Am I mad? (ok, I know you're all too polite to say so). Will I wreck my sewing machine in the process? I am thinking maybe just using a circle of rug for the top bit then the sides and bottom in something else, felt maybe?

Dingle · 08/02/2011 14:36

After being awake half the night with DD I am sat here with the intention of doing a bit of knitting while a poorly girl watches Shrek for the 100th time, but all I want to do is curl up and sleep.

I have however blogged another card.

Pleiades45 · 09/02/2011 22:07

I've several things on the go or on the drawing board. We moved house before Christmas and I've still not found everything:

current:
5 Napkins for Christmas with our initials cross stitched on.
Celtic N in Goldwork for SIL 50th birthday
Jumper for me
Jumper for DS1

drawing board:
Table centre to match napkins
Jumpers for DS2 & 3
Cross stitch sampler for new Nephew

In addition to this I have the following:
Quilt for DS1 to layer and quilt
Quilt for DS3 to layer and quilt
Quilt for niece to layer and quilt
Quilt for Guest room to layer and quilt
Lap quilt to finish quilting

drawing board:
Quilt for my own bed.

I really have to stop starting things and concentrate on finishing some of these UFOs

Dingle · 10/02/2011 19:31

Today I have started making some "recycled" paper flowers but only a few rows of knitting!
