I sold a buggy and it left my home in vgc buyer messaged me tonight to say she is unhappy with it as it has a part which popped out and the buggy is lopsided.
It was collected by the buyer, and i showed her it up and collapsed, as well as sitting up and reclined.

She put it in her car and then the dog went in the car.
But when it left here it was fine WWYD??

I thought it was a case of buyer beware when buying anything secondhand?

How long has she had it?

melikalikimaka · 09/07/2010 00:00

Sold as seen! No comebacks. Buyers beware!

manilla · 09/07/2010 00:01

she was must of been happy with it when she left your house or she would have never of taken it.

I'd tell her it was in mint condition when it left your house and it must have been broken in transit, if she felt there was any problems with it she should have said before she left your house.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2010 00:02

it was collected Tuesday used the same day, then the next day and today she has noticed it is broken???

But not when it left here

Manilla, thats what I thought as well.

I have repeatedly looked at the photos I have of it and it is not lopsided at all

The hood on my buggy sometimes comes unattached and makes the whole thing look rather drunken. but I just reattach and all is well again.

I'd tell her that she missed her chance to complain when she accepted the item after seeing it demonstrated on collection.

photos of buggy

I think perhaps she isnt collapsing or putting it up correctly! If you really want to get into it with her, tell her to bring it round and SHOW you..bet that is what it is. If it is something else, well, you have the photos to prove it was fine and buyer has no comeback as she could have rejected it at collection!!

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2010 00:14

House she is saying...

Hey, just wanted to let you know that im not very happy with the ryder Where the buggy folds one of the little metal bits that hold the buggy together has popped out.

but i stripped it down before selling it to wash and there was no damage.

OP posts:
piprabbit · 09/07/2010 00:15

What part popped out?

Maclarens have loads of poppers and straps for adjustability, so perhaps she's tweaked something without realising.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2010 00:17

Thats all the message said.

I have 2 maclarens here so yes I know what you mean about lots of popping bits lol...

YANBU

Tell her sorry but it was sold as seen and as far as you are concerned it was in good condition when it left yoru house

SpiderObsession · 09/07/2010 10:22

Trust a cat to get some part of its body in the picture.

Buyer beware methinks.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2010 11:04

lol Misty will get in if he can lol

right she has sent me a pic of the buggy and I have put them together in one photo. the pic on the left is mine the one on right hers. hers clearly shows wheels are closer together than in mine.

looks to me that either she hasnt pushed the bar down properly on the back or one of the bars underneath has detached!

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2010 12:24

her pics

OP posts:
misdee · 09/07/2010 12:28

ask her to bring it back round.
your pics show it was working fine befor eit left yours.

but check to make sure she is unfolding it properly. i see loads of people with maclarens who havent6 pushed the backs down and wobbly frames because of it.

LilQueenie · 09/07/2010 14:48

When something is being picked up from being sold it is up to the buyer to check it over. Once they have paid and taken it then it is deemed they are happy. You dont have to take it back. At least this is the ebay rules. Same applies elsewhere I believe.

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2010 14:57

She has now asked me to pay for the repair!!

I have told her I won't as when I sold it and she collected it she could have looked over it better and also there were no faults on it or with it,

I have told her that i won't refund and she asked if i would pay for a repair so i said no.

OP posts:
faddle · 09/07/2010 21:48

she has broken it and is trying it on.
If I sell a buggy and it is collected in person, I actually have a checklist that I go through and ask them to sign to say I have demonstrated it, they have tried it, and they are happy with the condition.
