I used to get excited about new shoes arriving.

Now it's washing machines.

I am officially old and sad at the age of 32.

(I can't wait to put a new wash in - 8 kg - and see how good it is).

You'd be welcome if you're in the SE :)

Fingers crossed for your HP tomorrow.

If you need to buy a new one - I can HIGHLY recommend the customer service from Boots Appliances!!

TiraMissYou · 30/11/2010 02:25

Aw, thanks, but am sadly miles away. Shucks.
Boots Appliances. Right. I shall whisper menacingly at hotpint tommorrow that if it doesn't buck its stupid square ass into hotwash action then its out Grin. Off now to google mega load drums and such.

ChippingIn · 30/11/2010 04:30

LOL

I spent AGES looking and decided that LG had the best reviews... not the cheapest but seem reliable and quiet. Boots do a £5.99 pm 'contribution' (insurance!) that covers all parts & labour on repairs and eventually a replacement machine - worth looking into I thought.

I got the smallest one as the kitchen is quite small and I didn't want it to protrude far from the bench - but I secretly (or not so secretly really!) coveted the 8kg silver one - sigh.......

The 11kg one looked nice too Grin

Well repair man has been...and gone. Won't be fixed until Monday. Needs a new 'mother board'. Jeez, even my appliances need mothering these days. It is still cheaper than a new one. The repair guy said washing machines are the item they most regualrly repair, so I reckon the £5.99 insurance deal is worth it, Chipping In.

Off to the laundrette again

quietly

I am also sad, my washing machine has a light that lights up in the drum when you open the door...the men who fitted it opened and shut the door several times saying "wow, look at that", they had never installed that model before.

So we are all sad.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 30/11/2010 12:53

Stealth - I'm im pressed! Did you use Oven Pride? I have got some in the cupboard to do mine but I've been a bit lazy busy lately to do it.

ManicMother7777 · 30/11/2010 14:42

YANBU I would be the same!

2rebecca · 30/11/2010 15:07

I'm excited about my new snow tyres. They make a huge difference.
I don't do enough washing to require a mega washing machine.

emptyshell · 30/11/2010 15:37

I have a Bosch dishwasher - I love it.

I was more upset when it stopped working than about the miscarriage I was in the middle of at the time. Could deal with the lost babies - the lost dishwasher (hubby resuscitated it) and I'd have needed bereavement counselling.

Trying to persuade hubby we need a washer/drier all in one at the moment because I don't think our washer is long for this earth - no luck as of yet though.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 30/11/2010 15:41

I uploaded a photo of my new AEG-Electrolux washer-dryer onto Facebook Blush after DH installed it for me.

porcamiseria · 30/11/2010 17:22

ChippingIn · 30/11/2010 18:05

TiraMissYou - bugger! Hopefully Monday will be the end of the saga!

Put a load through the new machine today - it was quite noisy, I don't think I'm at the end of this saga yet. The reason I paid the extra for the LG was that it was supposed to be almost silent and the clothes were supposed to be pretty crease free - neither of those things are happening! I'm going to try a couple of things tomorrow - but LG & I will be having a chat if it doesn't work out.
