To have considered doing this to dp?

Every weekday morning dp leaves the butter out on the side, I get up the dog has got the butter I throw the butter away buy a new one and have a argument with dp he promises to put the butter away and I get up the next morning to discover the dog eating the brand new butter.

Well this morning I am fed up and I considered scraping the top later of the butter and putting it back in the fridge and buying a separate butter for me and the dc and hiding it , do you realise this costs about £7.00 a week .

I didn't do it I threw the butter in the bin and bought a new one grrrrr .

I don't make dp sandwiches because he likes them fresh in the mornings .

I am not happy and dp will say chill out it is just a tub of butter grrrrr! .

Slushy, sorry I should have clarified that I meant the original post was misleading, not you and I posted a flippant response which I wouldn't have done if you'd mentioned his falling. The glazed eyes and lack of concentration sound a bit like "petit mal" which is a mild form of epilepsy. But I'm not a trained medical person, I'm a teacher who's taught children with these symptoms and that's what the diagnosis was. Or it could be he's dyspraxic. have a look at the symptoms here It may be none of these things and he's clumsy and forgetful, in which case I apologise if I've worried you. Hope you get a solution to the butter problem soon!

overmydeadbody · 05/07/2010 16:22

Why don't you just not buy the spread? Then, if he wants some, he can go and buy some.

Or, tell him the problem, and possible solutions as mentioned here, but tell him it is his responsibility to choose a solution to try. I don't see why you should put the butter in individual tubs or leave a note etc., when it is him with the problem.

Don't look after him, just guide him to figuring out a solution for himslef.

sandwiches are nicer without butter anyway, and especially nicer without fake butter.

NormalityBites · 05/07/2010 16:27

Get one of those pill boxes where each day is labelled so you can't forget to take your tablets. Fill each box with spread/butter. He will only open one lid per day and the dog won't be able to get to the rest.

NormalityBites · 05/07/2010 16:28

Oh and exactly what overmydeadbody said

slushy · 05/07/2010 16:29

Thanks Mowgli

I read through and I don't think he has this as he is very good at sports and only has a few on the list, only the clumsy and forgetfulness and day dreaming (oh and he can't dance). The rest he is perfectly fine with. He only ever falls if he is day dreaming other wise he is fine.

I will take him to a gp just to be sure though.

I don't like plain sandwiches ewww!

sandwiches aren't plain if they have plenty of nice fillings in them. Don't see the point of fake spread myself, but that's besides the point on this thread!

Hope your DH sorts out the problem slushy...

for the sake of adding to the dx possibiliteis, sounds just like my dss who have ADHD. ds falls over his own feet walking along, forgets his things all the time (very expensive habit) - 4th rain jacket so far this year, I'm up to about £80 worth of odd socks (wtf do they do with them????) forgets to put things in the fridge, dishwasher, is absent minded and day dreaming.

I put my money on ADHD. It's what jumped out at me when I read your op.

Take him along to gp (if he'll go) to put your mind at rest.
