To think some people are too brown!

I was in the park with DS yesterday and there was a lady who was soo brown she reminded me of a sausage! - The colour and the taut skin, it wasn't very flattering I didn't think, and I love being tanned, but I also know my limits!

My FIL loves to tan. Quite disconcerting actually, the moment the clocks went forward it seemed he put all his shirts away for next winter.

Now he is very brown and quite leathery, but as he sunbathes rather than just getting out in the sunshine (while gardening for example) he has lighter patches under the arms and in the creases of wrinkles. If he was more active the tan would look better IMHO as it wouldn't be so 2-dimensional.

Worse though, I think there are a couple of dodgy looking moles on his back. I don't think I can say anything directly but I'll tell DH. MIL has obviously been getting some sun too recently as she's orange/freckly. She's very fair so it's even less good that she's been tanning.

Today however I can't really criticise as I got rather pink of face yesterday. I was wearing an asymmetric piece of headgear so I have a not very subtle diagonal line across my forehead.

I got sunburn one year on my feet when wearing mountin sandals. Every year, the moment the sun comes out, even before I start baring my feet, the middle section goes brown. It's as if it is putting up its defences.

TAnning injections - what the f? Never heard of them and who'd have em.

Well, I love these threads as tanning is my absolute high horse stuff.

I've had skin cancer so all you with 'oh I can't help it - I never go out in the sun but I've got olive skin blah blah blah.

Yep, I've got olive skin - I'm mixed raced and I've had skin cancer. I'm soooo covered in cream and long sleeved nice white linen it's untrue.

I don't like the beach - too smelly - but I've still had this horrible thing.

I'd say - enjoy the sun (it's a lovely thing) and cover up at all times.

Yep, I look at least 10 years younger than I am thanks to ' no ' sun - but I've still had skin cancer.

So don't be complacent whatever your skin tone.

Yep, and I have friends who just take the sun - I know people I babysitted for who look so much older than me.
