to be annoyed that my MIL said she'd only babysit if she had to!!!!

To cut story short was having my first night out and we thought we would ask our parents if they would like to babysit, however due to my mothers ill health she was unable. We then asked my inlaws who turned round and said only if your desperate and cant find anyone else. WTF!!!!. We now dont want to ask her as i only want people genuinely interested to babysit in the future. I am being petty to think like this?

I suppose alot of frustration extends from feeling used as a cheap holiday when they want, but feel resentful that they dont help us out! dont get me wrong i dont want there help but cant help being angry at there attitude! x

I wouldn't put anyone up if they treated me like that!

I have inlaws - living fairly close - who made it very clear from the start that they didn't really want to babysit, and weren't prepared to have so much as a box of toys or kiddy books in their house for when we visited!

My mum on the other hand was terribly keen and woudl have liked to bring the children up (HER way) never mind babysit them! Fortunately unfortunately she lives too far away....

You really can't win with this one can you.
