what if baby starts to choke and is too small to push it away?

Could it push it away?

How sad is it that people don't want to take the time to sit and cuddle and feed their babies, insttead they stick ithe bottle on a metal stick and force it into babies mouth?!

Hideous

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 30/05/2010 13:29

Babies get alot out of feed time, they use it as an opportunity to bond and learn. It's a choking hazard aswell, the poor mite won't be able to stop the milk going into it's mouth so it will end up vomiting.

It's very badly thought through, the 'designer' hasn't given any thought to safety or child development. Tsch!

Disenchanted3 · 30/05/2010 13:31

Amumsnetter has used it and found it really good apparantly!

Why not just put the baby in this it comes with a bottle and everything.

YANBU - Oh my god! Do people actually buy this? Surely not.

Why would anyone have a baby and then give up the chance of bonding by feeding their child?

This is the most distubing baby product yet!

SirBoobAlot · 30/05/2010 13:53

That's horrible.

MmeLindt · 30/05/2010 14:00

Horrible. Feeding your baby should be a pleasurable time for mum and baby, and not a chore that needs a gadget to make easier.

flabbyribs · 30/05/2010 14:01

Its stupid and you'll probably find all the young lazy mothers too busy fagging it who don't give a F**k about there kids rushing out to buy one!

bearcrumble · 30/05/2010 14:04

Jesus, that's grim. Poor babies.

YANBU.

juuule · 30/05/2010 14:04

Could be useful for some people. Anyone who doesn't like it doesn't have to buy it.

MisSalLaneous · 30/05/2010 14:04

That is horrid. Everything about that website screams "unprofessional" - it would be interesting to see whether they even bother replying to 3littlefrogs's safety query.

blueshoes · 30/05/2010 14:08

It probably won't fly. It is not child abuse though.

TheFoosa · 30/05/2010 14:08

I do know someone who rigged a similar device for her twins so that she could see to the toddler

she should have got a patent for it

dustycups · 30/05/2010 14:08

can i just say i dont agree that its a product that should be used all the time and i love nothing better than cuddling up and feeding my dc's when they were little

but this would of been a lifesaver for me when dd1 was little as she did not have a feeding pattern and would scream at the most awkward time when walking home from places or shopping while trying to hold the hand of ds1 who had a habit of running off
and trying to walk along and feed her and hold his hand was near impossible and yes i used to rest the bottle on a blanket

[bad mother emoticon]

thumbwitch · 30/05/2010 14:23

that's where reins come in useful...

They do, but not necessarily tested using actual babies, iyswim. They have to have construction/materials standards definitely - but not sure about the rest.

i would never use this and i am someone who has used the propping up on a blanket method. it just seems so, rigid, it could definitely choke a baby imo, the blanket method is so unstable that any baby could just turn their head/spit out teat and the bottle would fall over...

i watched dd at all times while propping up her bottle though just in case

RunawayWife · 30/05/2010 15:22

What a stupid thing.

I also hate seeing babies and small children being pushed along asleep with a bottle stuck in their mouth

Rosa · 30/05/2010 15:35

Then if mother hits a bump and bottle comes out of babies mouth it then drips all over them . Same with an older baby moving its head out of the way.Very stupid IMO.

I used the propping on a muslin cloth method for DS. Just when he was a few months old and in the car seat in buggy facing me. It was only a few times but it did work. He could hold a 4oz bottle and drink alone at 4 months tho so didn't catch on!!

Livingbytheriver · 30/05/2010 15:55

It, rather, perhaps 'it' adapts!
