....after my 8yr old DS2 came to help me find the toe nail clippers this morning, when asking to cut his nails, to turn round to see him rifling through the top drawer of my bedside table, vibrator in one hand, lube in the other saying "its not in here mum!"

Will he bear the scars forvever?!

Scars? Did you attack him with it ? Is he badly injured? Should I call 999

whoneedssleepanyway · 25/05/2010 09:03

i would be more worried if he knew what they were.....sounds as though he was none the wiser!!!! think you got away with it, would have been worse if he was in his teens!

southeastastra · 25/05/2010 09:03

maybe i'm a prude but i wouldn't keep it anywhere where a child could find it. ever

Ladyanonymous · 25/05/2010 09:07

He looked a little perplexed - but maybe that was from the look of horror on my face?!

I don't know where else one would be expected tp keep it whoneedssleepanyway?!

I don't have a safe!!

This had just made me actually ROFL!!

Bless him, he obviously didn't know what they were, maybe move them before he get's old enough figure it out though, lol.

Songbird · 25/05/2010 09:13

My dd (5) found our box of condoms a few weeks ago, got one out and said 'ooh, can I have one mummy?'. They do look appealingly sweetie-like don't they?

cupcakesandbunting · 25/05/2010 09:14

MY DS (3 yrs) found my pink Rampant Rabbit last year and was waving it about asking what it was. DH was doubled over laughing, unable to take the object off him whilst I stood there mouthing like a goldfish.

DS seems to be unscarred by the event and thankfully has never mentioned it other family members

OrganicHairbrush · 25/05/2010 09:16

ROFL!!!

At least you didn't have your FIL or the HV or the priest hovering in the background...

ludog · 25/05/2010 09:33

I intercepted dd at the front door off out to play at being a policewoman, armed with (fluffy) handcuffs and (luminous pink) 'truncheon'!! Oh the shame, thankfully I met her on the way out and not on the way back in!

OldMacEIEIO · 25/05/2010 09:45

dd(5) was talking to her friend in the garden
'I dont know, lets go and ask'

'Gabbys mum found a condom on the patio, and we have a question
....
....
What's a patio ?'

TinyApeInBigPants · 25/05/2010 09:49

Have to say would not be keeping it in my top drawer where it's easy for a child to find.

OrganicHairbrush · 25/05/2010 09:53

What's a patio???

What did you say?

AndreaisSlowlyLosingIt · 25/05/2010 10:52

Ah don't worry DD found my bullet and thought it was "The cutest pen ever Mummy I wish I could keep it" I had a thread on here about it. Seems most kids find their parents toys at some point

mydoorisalwaysopen · 25/05/2010 11:01

ROFL

Floopy21 · 25/05/2010 11:02

Top of the wardrobe? Out of reach? Or at least out of sight if you open the drawer. Seems some of you are quite proud of your children finding your sex toys.

MarthaQuest · 25/05/2010 11:51

When ds found mine (under bed in bag) at age of 4, I just old him it was a back massager!

Ladyanonymous · 25/05/2010 12:24

Not proud - think sometimes its part of life that kids find out that we have a sex life....embarrasing all the same though!!

OP posts:
nikki1978 · 25/05/2010 12:27

I actually have a sex toy safe

Only because we have quite a few things which the kiddies came across once and we happened to have one of those little safes kicking around.

I sound like some sort of sex crazed fiend now

biddysmama · 25/05/2010 12:31

wow nikki, how many do you have?

i'm picturing one of those from films where its behind a picture, rows and rows of rampant rabbits, eggs etc

TinyApeInBigPants · 25/05/2010 12:36

Well my DH is still scarred from finding one in his parents room as a young boy. He said knowing they have sex is one thing, finding yourself holding a dildo is quite another. Still makes him shudder and feel slightly sick

bran · 25/05/2010 12:40

I have just bought one of these in black. Partly because we are about to move house and partly because DS is nearly 6 and very curious.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 25/05/2010 12:41

I don't have a top of the wardrobe. I could keep mine in the underwear drawer at this age, cos my daughter is too short to access it (18 mo), but once she's tall enough for the chest of drawers, I can't think where there'd be a safe place. I mean, there's the high cupboard over the fridge, which I have to get a stool to access, but that would be a bit annoying in a delicate situation.

Maybe this is a new thread topic. Where Do You Keep Your Toys?

MadreInglese · 25/05/2010 12:43

PMSL @ what's a patio

EdgarAllenPoll · 25/05/2010 12:46

it wasn't one of these was it?

mumofthreesweeties · 25/05/2010 13:25

Lol, this happened to me last week when my son was looking for his football glove. He then came and asked me why there was a fake (you know what in my drawer). DS is 12, I was mortified - in fact still am. Told him that his dad bought it as a joke........
