Skips prettily about the vast empty potentiality of the empty Hall and awaits.

You prefer yours with more decoration?

Umami · 27/08/2010 19:35

Dear Johnny, coming to tend to your cavernly needs, going at the rowlocks manfully.

Hullygully · 27/08/2010 19:37

I have cavernous needs, nay carniverous, nay cantankerous. See him pull and sweat, bless him.

This will surely cheer you

Umami · 27/08/2010 19:41

Perhaps some activity will ease you mind, Like Dear Col. Brandon. I require you to lift PENISDOG to the same status as this fine fellow.

Umami · 27/08/2010 19:42

Wasn't there a film recently about carnivorous caverns?

Have you chaps seen the poor quality sex writer thread with the thread title?

It is making me laugh so much

here

Umami · 28/08/2010 19:09

I had looked at that, but had not seen anything of the outcome after announcing her true feelings. I take it they've got it on? How many pages do I need to skip before it gets good?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 29/08/2010 20:25

Hello everyone.

I just want to make a little announcement (no, not that!). I have decided to take an extended break from MN for a while (until after Christmas), because I'm finding myself spending far too much time on here. And my boys are noticing and other stuff is not getting done.... notably getting myself a job.

It's very hard to do this. I enjoy talking to you all and I'm going to miss it very much, I've tried cutting down, but willpower alone is not working, so I'm going to ask MNHQ to "ban" me until after Christmas. I thought about restricting myself to this thread alone, but I can't see me managing it. Never been addicted to anything else before, but looks like this is it .......

The only thing that's stopping me right now is that pag - you said you might want to pick my brains about Uni for your son? I don't want to bugger off if there's pressing stuff you wanted to ask.

That's it. I shall be around until Tuesday eve and then I'll get onto MNHQ.

All the very best to all of you funny, clever, warm, wise women

Hullygully · 29/08/2010 23:23

No! nononononnonononononono

But I know exactly what you mean.

Oh Jamie! Sad for us but I do understand.

I took a years break from MN, I came back around a year ago now returned with a far more 'meh'/take it or leave it attitude.

Good for you for taking a break, but by jove, we will miss you Sad

MadameDefarge · 30/08/2010 11:53

Jamie Jamie, don't go without us making a Plan...if you fancy having coffee and getting our boys together, that would be great ...

Gibbon · 30/08/2010 11:55

Mimi - have missed you! Hope all is well

pagwatch · 30/08/2010 11:58

I am so tempted to just tell you that I will have many various and most pressing questions to ask you regularly over the next few years.....

Except that, like Hully and dear Gibb, I quite understand. The twats seem to be rampaging and it get a bit Hmm and I keep eyeing my pile of ironing... but then I fall into a funny thread and I have to hang around a bit.

Jamie - DS1 is doing quite a good job of making big grown up decisions and my feeling is that the sooner that becomes a habit the better. So i am watching his uni visits and AS results etc like this but not like this and exuding confidence in his grown upedness...
Oh Jamie - hope you don't swan off. But if you do, I hope you feel the benfit and pop back double quick

Gibbon · 30/08/2010 12:04

Thank you darling Pag for showering my keyboard with coffee with that second link Grin

pagwatch · 30/08/2010 13:30

Grin yer welcome

PrincessFiorimonde · 30/08/2010 17:54

Jamie, sorry you are doing this, but I do understand why. I don't post a lot, but I do lurk muchly. And sometimes that little half hour I was going to spend on catching up has become more like 2 hours... (Willpower is definitely not my middle name.)

If you do decide to have this break, please know that while you are away you will be very much missed - not just on this thread, but all across Mumsnet.

We'll just have to throw a big virtual party for you on your return.

All joking apart, I'm wishing all the best to you and your family. xx

Jamieandhismagictorch · 30/08/2010 19:27

Thanks all.

pag -I will treasure the memories you have left me with. Or rather, the image it is burned into my eyeballs - Eeeeewwwwwww. Also I had to read your post twice as I thought the rampaging twats you were referring to were your darling children ....

thanks for all the laughs, ladies. Honestly, I have several good friends in RL, but I don't think I have been able to let rip with my more witty strange ascerbic side as much as I do here.

I will come back and i hope you are all here. Maybe arrange that meetup ?< gulp >. I shall leave that in your hands....

Mimi - I would love to meet for coffee - shall I come over to you? Let me know what days are good for you

PrincessFiorimonde · 30/08/2010 21:59

Jamie, love your posts, xx

MadameDefarge · 30/08/2010 23:05

tatting? Pah! I have spun gold profiteroles gilded with read gold leaf, humming birds, monkeys in scarlet and gold braid jackets trained to do cartwheels, rosewater fountains and small kittens with gingham bows to stroke as you wonder at the loveliness...

see, jamie, I love you best, not like them!

MadameDefarge · 30/08/2010 23:09

And for Gibbon and NIgella I have pink cotton candy cushions embroidered with scarlet fleur de lis, supporting dainty trays of turkish delight, surrounded by tiger lily bouquets, and attended by small, lilac-coloured ponies with bells and gently waving peacock feather headdresses on them....

PrincessFiorimonde · 31/08/2010 00:22

Mimi - phew!
