to think some people need to get a 'real' life??

Facebook.

A girl in my friends list got married today. I know because of her numerous status updates and photo uploads (of the wedding, on the same day as the wedding). I mean c'mon, just leave it out for one day of your life? Especially your wedding day!

Same with people going on holiday and uploading photos and updating status' constantly whilst away.

Seriously, not cool. Can't you just enjoy yourselves without constantly uploading every detail?

Seems life is about photos for facebook and not just about memories these days.

why is it OK for you to be FB when you want to be, but it's not OK for her to be on FB when she wants to be? I don't get it. so

Yes...but I use it as a social networking site, not for my very own online 'OK' magazine.

YABU and not. some overdo it, others find a few minute or two and facebook fills that time Up to them, leave them be and block their updates if it really bugs you!

YABU, it take's seconds to upload pics to facebook if you have the right phone, I doubt she's sitting in a corner. So what if she was?

But I think mostly its a generation thing.

I am old gimmer (in my 40s) and would say 80% of the people I know of my age never or rarely use facebook.

Whereas probably 99% of 20 year olds use it daily.

It takes about ten seconds to take a photo and upload it to Facebook on my phone. I would definitely do it on my wedding day if I knew there were people who couldn't be there and who would like to see them - it's hardly hours out of the day.

same as anyfucker here - FB just seems to be too much of a faff. MN much easier, log on when you can and no one knows you personally so you just chat when you can.

Actually, I agree with you (a little bit) - I can certainly think of plenty of other things I'd rather be doing on my wedding day (if you get my meaning )

BUT,I dunno,maybe it wasn't a big deal to her, her wedding, maybe it was just for legal reasons

BUt it's only a short moment in a day and she may have been so excited she wants to share it with her freinds as quickly as possible-maybe there was a mate or relative on FB who could not make it to the day so they thought uploading the piccies as quickly as possible was her way of sharing the day. When we got married we wanted to do a live video stream for DH's grandparents as they lived in scotland and were too elderly to travel at the time. If there had been a way to share it easily with them then we would have!

Precisely - I'm getting married soon (which is why it rang a chord with me I think) and I just cannot imagine FB even entering my mind, I doubt I'll even have my phone on me! Judging by the photos it costaridiculousamountofmoney was a fairly big deal. Why waste time during such a special day?

Like my mum says about holiday photos, if you come back with loads you can't have had a good time.

DH and I did that using webcam, wireless net and ustream.com for friends who were stuck in Aus due to bush fires. For the service, not all day. I'm beginning to wonder now if it's rather tacky.

YANBU. My best mate recently went on honeymoon to New York then San Francisco and she kept updating "--- is outside Macy's LOL"

Eventually, I responded with "is your new husband really happy that he paid all that money for you to Facebook all day? ;-)" She stopped after that

No Steph, we couldnt go to Ds's wedding in SA,they did the same as you, it was wonderful to be able to see.
