to ask ex to put DD into his will

Ex (DDs father) owns a house outright (inherited after his wife, the mother of his DS, passed away). His DS is in his will to inherit house. But now he has DD also, AIBU to want her to have an equal share of the house should anything happen to ex or myself?

Thanks for coming back seven. I think you're last post was very reasonable (except for the bit about a posse - I don't think there is one but there was a lot of collective unplesantness so I can understand how you came to that conclusion).

I would only add that your daughter has something much more important than money - she has her mother who loves her. And that is the most important thing.

That's true JAMM And if nothing else, 7, I hope you will be making a will to make sure that your wishes are carried out after your death, particularly if your DD's dad is not that much of one to her

well, i have now sat down & worked out on a piece of paper what i think is a reasonable will, which would hopefully provide for dd AND give dh some freedom to enjoy life it i go. haven't got round to seeing a solicitor yet, but do plan to do it sometime this year, and am hoping that dh will do the same.

i think the difficult bit is to think about the money as logically & unemotionally as possible, and to keep the attitudes/feelings/thoughts of people involved as a separate issue.

Just wanted to agree with Shakespear and ChippingIn, among others, about your last post. You are doing the right thing in thinking about your daughter's future. Don't be upset by some of the comments that have appeared on the thread.
