Yes, look at me with my current affairs, starting a thread to slag off a film which came out about 10 years ago!

I mean, come on. Let's reduce what could have been an excellent story by inventing a 'across the class divides' love story, complete with the bastard English, jolly fiddle playing Irish, Americans who were evil and money loving (unless you were Leonardo DiC, or the fat jolly one played by Kathy Bates), a gun fight and the main character losing her virginity in the back of a car.

Honestly.

Wandering sheep - I'm 28 this year... I'm fairly sure I was 14. Leo was one of the best casting decisions ever, I saw it at the cinema twice and many many many more times on video

Please no one mention the scene that makes me cry. You know the one, but don't say it because I will howl. I can never watch it again because of that scene. Oh...and the fact that it's shite, obviously.

So many bad memories. I saw it sitting behind a group of 15 year olds (to be fair I was only 17), one of whom said about 5 minutes in - "I'm lost now. What's going on?"

Then at the end when everyone was sobbing I did a massive snot sneeze and me and my friend dissolved into hysterical laughter while everyone looked at us with contempt for being so heartless.

Then I saw it again with a guy - he tried to put his arm round me, I told him I wasn't really interested in him in that way and then we sat in embarrassed silence for the remainder of the film. When the nude scene was coming up I was mortified and went and hid in the toilet so I wouldn't have to watch it with him. Christ what an awkward age that was.

Oh, and the film was complete and utter shash.
