People would get over flying and just get boats and trains instead

We live just under a flight path and the sky is always full of contrails (quite high up) and we also get massive army helicopters going over and lots of small planes doing loop de loops over us.
The last couple of days have been bliss!
No droning aircraft spluttering just above us and the best blue skies ever.
OK, so we don't need to travel anywhere, but shows you how our fragile economy can be brought to a standstill by something happening miles away.
The volcano is still spewing it out and later on there should be some dramatic lighting in the ash cloud on the webcams.

YANBU - I can't stop looking at the blue sky without vapour trails. Although feel very sorry for those unable to get home to their families.

Will confess that I was unable to resist buying mange tout in Waitrose this morning and purchased the last copy of the Telegraph with £10 off voucher!

The thing that makes me feel sad is that a lot of food is being thrown away in Kenya as it can't be flown anywhere..and yet there are people starving all over Africa who could have eaten that food.

YANBU
I went to a park today and loved laying down and looking up at the blue, clear, no contrails sky. Tough I hope they return to normal on Tues, so my DH can come back home....)

I'm feeling sorry for all those getting ready for the air show season that starts in a few weeks - the RAF pilots have been training for their displays for 6 months and may not get their tests done in time now. It'll be a huge disappointment if the first air shows of the summer are cancelled
