I have said I will wash them if they are in the washing bin. He didn't have any clean shirts for work this morning because I hadn't washed any - they were all screwed up next to his side of the bed .

AIBU or should I just go and get them and bloody wash them?

(Can't help feeling a little petty in refusing , but it annoys me that he can't just put them in the bloody basket!)

not in the laundry basket...doesn't get washed

that goes for me, DH and the kids

any complaints and I withdraw labour...hence DH and DD (14) do their own ironing and have done for some time

Mouseface · 16/04/2010 15:15

Here, here AF!

DH does ALL the ironing as he once dared to complain one of his very expensive shirts had "a bit of a wrinkle in it".

Strange that, I can think of other things of his with a bit of a wrinkle!!!!

AnyFucker · 16/04/2010 15:16

see if he wants it ironing ?

Mouseface · 16/04/2010 15:23

PMSL - I have been tempted when he's being a custard!

DH once told me, quite seriously, that he liked his work shirts to go on blue wire hangers and casual shirts on green wire hangers. It took only one glance from me to have him hastily assuring me that he was only joking, ha ha ha, it didn't matter which hangers they went on.

Laundry can be a strangely sensitive issue sometimes......

Had similar word only a day or so ago.. DH was moaning cos he was expected to make his bed...

He said, I lived with my mum till I was 19, she didn't expect me to make my bed. I lived with ExW1 for 9 years, i didn't make the bed. I lived with ExGf for 2 years and I never made the bed.

He then sat back with that 'So what do you have to say to that then' face.... You know, that face you can never tire of slapping?.....

I told him it was about time he started, cos he has an awful lot of bed making to catch up on...

I'm only asking him to flip the frigging duvet... not hospital corners and bouncing pennies ffs!

I told him that I don't really want hearts and flowers, but someone doing little things that need doing, so that I don't have to do them all, are what really makes me feel loved and happy...

I told him if he did, he'd definitely get more action...

angrywasp the only 'big deal' ish thing is that he said this morning - have i got any shirts? and i said, i don't know. he then came in saying that there weren't any - i then said they are probably all dwn by our bed. i reminded him of said condition - washing basket = washed shirts, and he made a few grumbles... he kind of knew he was being U so he said 'its ok, doesn't matter' in kind of a fine-don't-do-my-shirts-then-see-if-i-care-type-way... and i laughed. i then wondered if i was being really petty hence the post...

Oh okay. In that case yanbu. HE is a grown man and as such should be responsible for HIS shirts. If you kindly offer to do them for him then it should be on YOUR terms or not at all. Anything else would be taking advantage.

AngryWasp · 16/04/2010 18:39

LOL Little missy. Why does the bed need doing? Why can't you just do it on your way back in?

LittleMissHissyFit · 16/04/2010 19:01

cos I have to get up and look after DS.... and DH stays in bed and sleeps until 10.30... and er no, I never get a lie in....

I don't get to go back till the evening... oh in the meantime DH will moan if the bed is left unmade....

THATS why i tell him to ffing well make it....

LittleMissHissyFit · 16/04/2010 19:02

I told DH his mother created a monster... and that MY DS would understand what work it takes to get things done....
