collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O119621/medallion/

and ask what you would covet?

As OP I have decided not to allow coveting health or other people's homes!

It must be an object that you alone would like to own just for it's innate loveliness or because it moves you in some way.

it can not have any innate usefulness or be
a way of
selling your own stuff

feeling bossy I am

hf128219 · 11/04/2010 22:32

My idol

I met him.

mummychicken · 11/04/2010 22:33

Thanks Bronze I've had lessons just can't be arsed with the practise!

HF who is he?

fidelma · 11/04/2010 22:39

HF Why Rudolf ?

hf128219 · 11/04/2010 22:40

Because he was an inspirational and passionate dancer, the best. And I am a ballet nut!

fidelma · 11/04/2010 22:44

How about Sylvie Guillem then or Carlos ?

iwastooearlytobeayummymummy · 11/04/2010 22:47

fidelma · 11/04/2010 22:52

I have a programme with his autograph but thats not cool.

hf128219 · 11/04/2010 22:53

Carlos also has a fascinating history, that is part of the magic.

My mum already has a Nureyev costume, bought at Christies!

fidelma · 11/04/2010 22:56

I hope it was washed LOL!!!

Do you dance?

fidelma · 11/04/2010 22:57

They are all quite normal and self centered, but you have to be really.

mummychicken · 11/04/2010 23:00

IWTETBAYM

multi-tasking whilst juggling throw in a couple of pooey nappies for effect!

iwastooearlytobeayummymummy · 11/04/2010 23:14

very impressed with costume HF and also autograph ,fidelma
See it has to be something that moves you

but think i had better move away from Mummy and the nappies

well currently coveting bed and duvet

night night and off to dream of inanimate objects that money cannot buy.

iwastooearly I actually quite like that medallion too.

He looks quite, well, normal. I am used to seeing Romans looking like this or this.

The guy on your medallion on the other hand looks like a real person. I could easily see him on the street today for example.

Y'know rather than being Daniel Craig he is in fact Moby with hair...one of us common folk who happened to have done something in order to be immortalised on a medallion/CD/Guiness Book of Records.

In fact, if you do meet up with him at some point, can I come too?

QueenThistle · 12/04/2010 05:30

Oh and YANBU

I, for example, covet this

Want, want, want....

Psammead · 12/04/2010 07:50

I covet one of these

Except a little different. I had something similar (I think it may may been real fur, actually ) when I was very little.

No idea where it came from, and no idea where it went. I lost it. It took me ages to get over it, I used to keep it in my pocket and stroke it when I was anxious.

I still think about it sometimes [pathetic emote]

iwastooearlytobeayummymummy · 12/04/2010 16:56

queen

RJRabbit · 12/04/2010 17:13

I quite covet this but I'm not sure we have room in the lounge.

Would grudgingly settle for this

ditavionteased · 12/04/2010 17:19

your lounge is big enough for a porshe, how would you get it through the door?

iwastooearlytobeayummymummy · 12/04/2010 17:43

RJ
How dare you! I covetted that last night as I was going off to sleep.
it really is one of the most beautiful things i have been fortunate to see in RL and i have the postcard to prove it!
On reflection we could share it, or maybe job-share as Pope?

a knitted rabbit that I loved more than anything in the world.

My mother threw all my toys out when I went to college. I'd left him at home as he was too precious and I thought he'd be safe.

Also one of those big, natural blue diamonds they showed in the Millenium Dome in 1999.

iwastooearlytobeayummymummy · 12/04/2010 18:22

laurie

oh, sorry for your loss.
MY DD1 has got her cat and special blanket with her at UNI.
